They are the same heads. They had all new seats and 14 new valve guides. There was no evidence of valve to piston issues. So after examination it had to have been the seat coming out. I have three pistons in a box. I just hope I can clean it all up and make it work. These heads have been hurt and cut on so many times I just dont know how much they have left in them.

I saw you at Tulsa, headed towards the staging lanes.
Didn't get to say howdy, one member of my traveling party has health issues. He didn't want to stay, finding out about the power outage. Myself and 2 others take him to races and such. He has Parkinson's disease, he steadily is getting worse. We try to bless him by taking him to these events. It ain't easy.
Look forward to seeing you at Tulsa, next year, maybe :) !

Brodix has worked on your heads in the past, so they know you, maybe they'd make you a deal on some new ones. I'd be gun shy on using them ANY more...enough (easy for me to spend your money...LOL)

My problems arent Brodix fault. Im sorry I did not get to meet you. I was taking a nap when the power outage happened. I woke up and was going what the hell happened? Sorry I missed you. Hopefully I will be in Noble next year.

We met at Noble, Okla., I believe the last time you were there. You unloaded out of your trailer, just so we could see your awesome pickup. Had another friend with me that day, he and I plot together to get the "not as healthy one" out to these events.
Looking forward to hearing positive directions from your engine deal!!!
Jeff

Well after seven months of waiting I got my new heads. One problem though some dummy at UPS dropped one and damaged it. I did some mock up before I sent them back though.

Awesome truck! It's cool to see one go through so much progression over a lifetime of ownership.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

I have to massage the Firewall again just a little bit so the pass side head will have enough clearance. Then the truck is off to the body shop for a little TLC. Strip and redo the seamsealer on the roof and repaint a few pieces. It looks damn good for an 18 year old paint job so no need for a total repaint.

I hope to have the motor built by the end of summer. Then it has to go to the chassis shop to work on the headers. The angle on the ex ports are so far off they wont even lay flat against the head.

This is going to be a single Dominator and Dry Sump combo. The goal is to make 100 more hp than the old combo.

I'm in no hurry so I'm taking my time and doing the way I want it.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Well it looks like my seven year old thread is a victim of the Photobucket greed. Funny thing is I think I was paying them on an auto renew when I started. Im still pecking away at my motor. My manifold is off being ported and I think Im going to go ahead and send the heads too (they are cnc ported). Maybe see If they can get anymore out of them. I've also committed to a big ass carburetor from Dambest it will flow over 1600 @ 17" of water. So dry flowed I would think it would be around 2000 cfm. I'll check with photobucket on my account but Ive heard they may want up to $500 to renew. Dammitt

PB to be able to third party host pics is $399 a year now I do believe, I won't be paying it.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Well guys I'm still at it. I haven't posted in awhile because the PhotoBucket BS. The truck is at the Body Shop (Or most of it). Parts are here and there most of the motor is at the machine shop. I'm trying to piece together this Dry Sump deal amongst other things. I'll try to figure out another way to post pictures. I just hate to give up all the stuff I have in this thread. If I wasn't spending so much on Hot Rod parts I may have given in to the Piracy.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Both Chrome and Firefox have fixes for the Photobucket extortion. All anyone needs to do is down load it from their web browser and they can see all of the old photobucket pics. I can see all of your old pics.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Please explain the process on the Chrome browser. Thats what I use but I dont log into Chrome.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Regan,

Here is a link for a fix for Firefox that I saw on another thread. If I find one for Chrome I will post it here too. Its just a plugin to "fix" you browser to display the pictures. You should be able to find on for Chrome by doing a search for something like "photobucket fix for image links"...

Depending on your browser you can get a plugin that fixes the photobucket links. this one works for firefox

Here is the fix for Chrome. It is just a link to add a plugin patch so that Chrome will display the photobucket images from the existing links:

If your running Google Chrome click the link and install the patch and it will fix the Photobucket problem

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Thanks Capt and Aggie. I followed the link to the Chrome webstore. I typed photobucket and it came up with three options. I clicked the first one that said Photobucket Embedded Image Fix. It worked ! I guess I can keep this thread going. I just got through going through my whole thread. It reminded me of how crazy I am. lol I guess I can use Imagur or something else. What are yall using to host pics with?

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Well I figured give an update. Photobucket freed all the pics. I went ahead and paid the smaller fee they came up with. So I'll start posting some new pics. We put the 672 9* single four combo on the dyno. The results were not as expected. We tore the top end off of it. The heads are at Slick Ricks and Hogans is on hold for a new Sheetmetal Intake. Then Ill pull the two Dominators off the shelf and try again. On another note my Dry Sump was a fun new toy to play with. I'll post back soon.

The drip rail was getting pretty bad. The seam sealer was cracked up and holding moister underneath.http://s911.photobucket.com/user/reg...tml?sort=3&o=7

Ok now you can see the damage from the cracked seamsealer. It was holding moisture causing this mess.

This is mocking up the dry sump lines. I got my lengths figured with rubber hose. Then sent them off. They came back braided stainless ptfe hose.
