We have had this truck for about 4 years now. Just redoing a few things and wanted to post some of the Accuair installation. After our trip to Tennessee this fall I decided it needed some serious updates.

It tows great. One on the things on the list is a Gear Vendors Overdrive unit. 3:73 gears are great at 55-60 mph. I like to cruise a little faster.

The air ride system I had in it was ok. It was a ride Tech E2 . Just a pressure based system. Accuracy left something to be desired in a heavy truck. The noise was getting to us with out carpet or sound deadening.

So you swapped the ride tech out with the e-level? What's your thoughts on the installation and components of the two?

I do not have the Accuair running yet I need 1/4" pipe to 1/4' push connect 90's to mount the valve where I want it.. The E level is definitely more work mounting the sensors on the frame. Very compact design I love that it all fits behind the 1/4 panel. Up to this point the install is super easy very clear instructions. I haven't decided where I am going to mount the controller. I did not like having the E2 controller on the seat floating around.
My biggest disappointment so far is I didn't get a Accuair sticker in the box :whine:

I cant really compare the ride tech to accuair. the Ride tech system is 4 years old. I was told not to buy the E2 system but the price was right and it did go up and down. Accuracy was the issue. If you want to drive your vehicle for 16 hrs you need accuracy for your alignment. Which means some way of measuring the height of your vehicle. I felt like a idiot with my Stanley 25' fat max going around the truck trying to get it level Pressure based system in my experience sucks.

Your Suburban was my inspiration to get one. I first saw it in the street trucks zine. Love the original paint your probably one of the original paint trucks before the look really got big.

The carpet is from ACC auto custom carpets. I got the heavy jute underlayment on it. The rear section is a little bit short on the sides. If this was a really nice restoration I would be kinda upset about it. But its hard to be that picky when the rest of the truck is far from perfect

I had to clean the shop out. So I rolled the brub down the lane. Actually gavee some motivation to install the height sensors

Here are a few pictures of how we mounted the sensors. The system is working now. The calibration process was super easy. It was the part I was most scared of. The accuair system is amazing. I only had to drop the front left corner 3/8" from where there preset #2 height was after calibration setup

How much did the sound mat help? I'm debating pulling the rubber mat and insulation out of mine and putting some down. Worth it??

Huge difference with the windows up. I never thought at 29 I would hate loud exhaust. I was planning on dumping the flow masters for some stock mufflers I think they can stay now its actually quiet. The fat mat was fairly reasonable. The carpet kit hurt. I ordered the heavy jute underpad the bill was over $700 cdn for carpet. I should have checked the Db # reading before and after. Once the gv overdrive is in it should be ready for another long road trip. Planning on hitting the Carlisle truck nationals.

Didn't realize you were in Canada, probably not many burbs up there! I'm 24 and starting to hate loud exhaust in a daily driver. My burb is 10x quieter in the cab than my pickup. The truck has nothing but floor pans. Did you put any fat mat in the doors? I know my burb won't ever be like a new one noise wise, just be nice to make it a little more comfortable to ride in.

How did you prep the wood panel for the mat? Just pressure wash?

I degreased the entire inside and pressure washed everything. I did not put any on the inside of the doors. I am planning on removing the door panels and putting some on the steel panels. I don't like the idea sticking anything to the inside door skins. If water gets behind it rot starts.

Well its been a busy week. I got the year vendors installed Thursday I had a 1 piece shaft made for it. Now I am thinking I should have flipped the trailing arm mountts first. I hope it dose not change the shaft length. I also have to re mount the accuair sensors on the rear. I aired on he truck up and down fully BUT. Its necessary to actually jack up the chassis on one corner to get full droop.

Just started the old air install tonight. Either I can't read instructions or they suck. Been a difficult install so far. My suburban had dealer air so there firewall block off plate did not cover the holes. I had to make a larger block off plate. DO NOT use the templates for the factory dash vents. I did on the passengers side and nearly destroyed my dash. If I was to do it again I would just get there vent that require a 2.5 hole saw

I had to enlongate the holes on the factory dash adapters so the would click on. Just a lot of little annoying things so far. It better work amazing


Anyone know what the spair hose is for ? I only have 3 places to hook up hoses.

Really like your Burb. Thanks for sharing the updates. Did the Accu-air come as a package with controller, pump, tank, sensors etc?

Is the extra hose lor left or right dash? Just guessing defrost, left, right and floor?

I already had tank and compressor. I only boight the E level system and valve block. You can buy the complete kit if your starting fresh. The accuair system is so much easier to install than this air kit.

Had to remount the rear height sensors. They worked fin up and down but if the suspension. Flexed hard they would wrap around

I had a Buddie make these kick panel speakers. Worked out great

Funny. Its tore apart in the shop right now. I an installing a factory rear overhead ac. Also sound dreading the roof and insulating above the headliner panels. I am also debating pulling the engine and resealing it all up just scared how far I will pull it apart once its out. The engine runs so nice right now its ashamr to even touch it

Well I got tired of the controller flopping around on the seat so I mounted it on the e brake cover. Its easily replaceable if I decide I don't like it. Actually is very easy to see and use. It I see that the truck needs to go up ahead I actually have time to hit 3 and raise the truck up.

Also got the deck mounted. Used the heater controll screws to hold the bracket.

Great looking Suburban. Love the patina, door logo and the stance. Did you have the logo painted on the door or was it on the truck when you bought it?

The business name is mybroofing company. I had a vinyl stencil made and painted it on. Then lightly wet sanded it off and polished
