Fun Videos
These two are great. Watch when you have time. This thread is for sharing 'Truck Videos' for others to enjoy. EDIT: I decided to change this to just 'Fun Videos'. Any kind of feel good videos are welcome. The idea is one that put a smile on your face, take you to a better place, better time, etc
PIE ^^^ Go back to 16:12 and check out the mini COE rig sneaking in. I saw that thing at the national ATHS show when it was in MD back in the '80s. When Peterbilt came out with the COE they built the 1/4(?) scale rig for promotion West Coast Fast Freight/System |

Re: Fun Videos
Here's a non-truck video I want to share (when you get time). Merry Christmas!
One day you would realize you haven't seen a company's trucks on the road. Then another and another. The era of corporate buyouts didn't miss the trucking industry. I remember it was easy to get a truck stop shower, just claim you drove for PIE because they had so many drivers. |
Re: Fun Videos
Here's a good one about how it was as a kid for members around my age. We watched as the world became more regulated and common sense waned. I always say I grew up in the pre-safety era. The common word spoken all over is, "We're lucky we survived". All in jest of course. It was great!!

Re: Fun Videos
You and I grew up in the same years. I think we had more fun with less than kids of later generations. Some would argue I know.

Re: Fun Videos
This may not be fun for anyone else but I got a kick out of it.
YouTube always has suggestions of recommended videos when you go on it and this popped up. IT'S MY CAR!!! The seller posted it when he was selling the car. It was just so strange to open up YouTube and see my own car on there. I guess it makes sense. Once it's on there it's on there, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-zKW2HjvXs&t=678s |

Re: Fun Videos
This is a fun video for me. I posted it several years ago. Since this video she has gotten her drivers license, a ticket, totaled her first car (shes fine) and working on her second, lastly she is a HS Senior. Who knew grand kids could be so fun?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Pui52ahGwdU Dunno why the link posted this way, I tried a couple of ways ... Oh well, it still works. |
Re: Fun Videos
I haven't even watched it yet and I know the one (hope I'm right). Is it the one in the red cycle car? What a great video to have. Now is the time (and beyond) you made that video for. Wait even more years. It's going to get more fun to watch!
First, I hope I was right. Now, I'll go check |

Love the Bandit!
Billy Bob Thornton said Smokey and the Bandit is a "southern documentary". I believe he gets it. ;) |

Re: Fun Videos
That was it. They were at the interstate exits, early Generica. I forgot about the fried clams. I think I used to get those. But it's the Orange Freeze that I can't forget. They managed to put a restaurant at every rest area on a toll road where they were the 'only' choice. That's how I remember them. In the '60s in the outer suburbs of DC in MD there was the Wheaton Plaza, the big place to go shopping before malls. There was a HoJo out along the road and that was the cruisin' hot spot for the hot cars from all around the county. I was a kid, but I can still see those cars under those lights and the turquoise & orange HoJo all lit up
