65 gmc with chevy grill
 

hi just wondering if i can put a chevy grill on a gmc body. reason i want to turn it into a chevy is that i can also put a chevy cluster in it if it fits. Dakota digital dosent make a cluster for gmc trucks.Correct me if I'm wrong but i think they share all body parts except for dash and grill.

The portion of the dash that carries the cluster is completely different on a GMC.

I have a GMC and used a Dakota Digital universal dash in mine. MHX-1023. I used the outer portion of the plastic bezel and cut a flat piece of metal in the middle, cut out to fit the MHX-1023. Just fits.
Incidentally I used a Chev repro chrome grill and C10 body trim so I now have a "GMC10".

GMCs are so much less common that I'd personally have a pretty hard time getting my brain around the idea of making it look like a Chevy. I'd definitely pass on the Chevy grill swap, if it were mine.

I prefer the GMC grill too but they are not reproduced in chrome and having one chromed is just too expensive.

Spend the cheddar and re-chrome the grill. I used after market gauge kit off of ebay.
