And then after a food break this was accomplished, LS related so it still counts

I tack welded the patch on the dog leg and installed the passenger front wide track fender. Unfortunately, the front bumper isn't wide enough to fit the new fenders. I bought a front bumper when I got the fenders and flares, but it's twisted. I'll straighten it out as best i can.

Here’s another approach to bad fender flares: https://www.bjsoffroad.com/Bushwacke...oor_p_191.html

These work best for bigger tires of course. I have a J10 I’m LS swapping and fixing up. The flares are a pain. I bought a donor truck and got one rear flare off it and it was no fun getting it off and will be worse putting it on my truck.

I can go ahead and tell you now josh is going to make the metal flares fit.

Re: Jeep Trailblazer SS

I considered the bj's fender flares, but i want to look less conspicuous and more factory stock looking. Plus i paid $300.00 for the fenders, flares and front bumper, which is $200 cheaper than BJ's.

I tackled the driver's front fender today. Patched the dog leg and buttoned it up.

I took the Jeep to the muffler shop and they tightened up my pipe work, welded in a "v"clamp at the headers and fixed all the exhaust leaks. They did a really great job, and now the only exhaust i hear comes out the tips of the side pipes.

I started sectioning the rear fender flares. I cut 4.5 inches off the front section and 6 off the rear. I welded the bottom edges to the body, lining up the body lines on the flares to the edge of the rocker panel. I marked the center arch and cut off the excess to butt weld the pieces together. I see a lot of grinding and welding in my near future.

So, i caught my pants on fire. I was kneeling while tacking the fender flare on. I stopped long enough to smell the fire. Got 2 of my 3 layers.

So i finished both sides. They're lower and don't stick out as far as i thought they would, but I'm still happy with the look.

I brought the widetrack front bumper to MadKidd's house last weekend and he parked his c10 back wheel on the center of the bumper so we could straighten the driver's side. I was bent up and curled inward. We used a pipe wrench and took turns jumping on it. It's not perfect, but i love that it fits.

While taking the body on and off, i went to lift it one time and forgot that I'd bolted the body down and i bent the roof up as the back wheels came off the ground. I didn't know how serious the damage was until i fitted the power tailgate and rolled the window up. It's still not perfect, but I'll figure it out.

And i started filling in the holes and smoothing out the edges of the rear fender flares. All-metal and then body filler.

It needed those flares with the wider track width. Very cool fix! And not many people will ever notice it's not factory for an SJ.

Nor much progress. Still bodyworking the flares. But i did replace the rear shocks.
I think the shocks were original with 172k on them. Still had a decent charge to them. The new kyb's were all but impossible to compress and get the bottom bolt hole to line up.

I started disassembling everything to mask and prep for primer and paint. I blacked out behind the grille, mostly so i know where to mask for color when i get to paint.

I removed the vin tag and polished it because, well, why not? It has screws. Andi removed it to paint the door jams.

I also picked up a spray gun kit from home depot. I'm sure it's gonna be less than professional looking, but I'm gonna scuff the clear coat when I'm finished to make the paint look old anyways.
