Removing 5.3 and trans from donor. Tough do when its on a trailer but we got it done.

Removed doors, fenders and replaced door pins and body mounts

Some primer and paint. I replaced doors, vendors and hood with new metal to save my painter time.

cab jams and inside paint, doors hung. this is when i did the hinge pins.

Got a little distracted..sold my 20212 ram and bought a 1988 k5 to daily. has 4 inch lift with 35's. Rust free truck. Dogs like it!

Then there are times we can hate the brokeness in the world. July 13th at 2 am, a drunk driver drove through my master bedroom. Truck literally hit me in the back (broke my tailbone), i took a bunch of bricks to the back of the head, glass cuts all over, my wife took a 20lb chuck of 6 bricks to her face (6 stitches), and praise god our 7 week old son at the time was basically untouched.

After the accident we got the house fixed and moved. Feel a lot safer in the new place and i was able to upgrade to a 3 car garage which has been nice.

used the k5 to move. did well pulling the trailers. inside was packed down too.

new driver door had two dents we had to fix. cab prep as well.

Worked on my garage to get it ready to bring the 81 home. Got tools put away and hung wall mount garage opener.

In order to get my k5 in the garage i needed to lower the truck...so got 33 inch wheels installed and put a 2.5 inch lift on. fits perfectly in the garage now. i drive it every day so having it. a bit lower is good for me.

pulled inner fenders, core support, drive shaft and exhaust to prep for pulling motor and trans. my 305 only has 120K miles. i am 30 years old an owned the truck since i was 14. I bought it was 92K miles. My dad is going to freshen up the 305 and put in in his 66 suburban for now.
