Just Getting Started

Just getting into my classic truck journey again. Had a 69 C10 back in high school. Ended up selling that truck when I went away to college.
Now that I've got a house with a workshop I'm able to get back into a project vehicle.

Purchased a 1971 C20 Longhorn back in January and I'm working to get it roadworthy this spring. I've already gained so much knowledge through this forum. Thank you!

Welcome
Big box truck with a big block engine, nice.
We used to have an active truck club in the Twin Cites, but I can't access their web page right now. They do sponsor an annual car show and swap meet at the fairgrounds on June 4th.
Their FB page hasn't been updated since 2017, so no help there, either.

Thanks for the info on a local truck club and show! I'll have to check it out this summer.
I'm always looking to gain wisdom and insight from those working with their trucks for much longer than I have.

Welcome, I just recently joined myself.
And looking forward for the information these guys have in the love of the trucks.
I also had a 69c10 in high school, until one day my older brother decided to trade it for a 650 street bike for me..
I got a 72 k10 swb Cheyenne.
I’m not going to buy a car for my so called mid life crisis..
I’m going to build it.

Love the idea of building your mid life crisis vehicle!
I talked my wife into the idea of the 71 being our secondary vehicle.
She works from home a majority of the time.

Re: Just Getting Started

I never done this ever, but I have always thought someone has so why not me attitude. With just reading on this forum and such.
I tore. It apart ,replaced the floor inner and outer cowl rockers cab corners and a &b pillar s.
And it turned out good. So upward I go.
And maybe someday look at it and think
I built that.:smoke:

No better time than now to begin. I've found the number of resources and wisdom between this forum, YouTube videos, and my brother who is a mechanic I should be covered. :chevy:
