The October 2022 Truck of the Month (ToTM) contest theme is:
The Great Pumpkin I know, it is tough to figure this one out, but here ya go. To compete in this month’s contest, you will need to meet these criteria:
You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum with at least one full view of the vehicle. In addition, we will need the owner’s board name and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. Nominations will run through September 23. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. A Poll Thread will be set up September 24 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of October 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of October 1. The announcement of the ToTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area. |

Nice selection. Here is my orange and white 72 Cheyenne Super for consideration. Original sheet metal short box 4X4. I’ve owned the truck for 20 years.
I have the “protector plate” warranty card. Purchased by Tommy Zeisberger from Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix March 26, 1972. Probably why the rockers and cab corners are original to the truck. Tommy marked oil changes for the first 10,000 miles in the owner’s manual. I use it to haul my dirt bikes, landscape material or what ever needs hauling. When I am ready to retire I’ll give it the restoration it deserves. For now it’s a great work truck for my needs! |

1968 Chevy Shortbed Stepside
It's been raining for the last few days, but it let up for a while, so I was able to take some photos this morning. Gregski likes to call it "Annoying Orange" or "Orange Crush," depending on his mood. My wife calls it "The Tangerine Machine." When I first bought it, it had a license plate frame that said, "Big Poppa's Ride." I'm not sure who Big Poppa was, but I sure would have liked to meet him. I believe this truck was owned by CalTrans originally (their trucks were 516 Tangier orange). There are some leftover rivets where I believe an asset tag was attached. Also, the blue/yellow license plates are from the early '70s. The original plates would have been black/yellow and marked "Exempt" so they would have been replaced when the truck was put up for sale to the general public. This truck hasn't had a frame-off restoration. The rockers are solid and original. It got a re-spray in the late '90s, and a previous owner painted the original fawn interior black, along with the A pillars. I replaced the driver door and bed fender to repair some damage caused by a previous owner. The body shop did a good job of color-matching. L31 Vortec engine 4L60 transmission with custom Arduino TCC controller 3.73 with Eaton Posi Buddy buckets Tach/vac gauge cluster AM/FM truck radio Quick ratio power steering Front disc brake conversion/drop spindles with power booster Boyd rear tank with in-tank fuel pump Rally wheels with custom 7" rims in the front Lowered 3.5/6, 255/60R15 rear, 215/70R15 front |

October and orange! Here is my 1971 short wide side that my old man and I have spent 8 years tinkering with. The last picture is when my sister brought my niece over for her first Halloween trick-or-treating stop back when it was still being built. She got all wired up on sugar and we let her drive uncle Curt's truck
