Class 4 Trailer Hitch

I found some others using a Curt 14082 trailer hitch. That hitch setup seems like it could be a little wider but I can make it work, I read the holes are 31 1/4" between centers. If I use that hitch ill be reinforcing the rear of the frame since it just bolts to the lower flange.

I want a class 4 so any lesser ratings are off the table. What hitch are you running and did you stiffen the frame? Pics?

Im planning on putting a fuel tank back there so trying to make compatible decisions and get both of these items ordered.

Nice install! I think I am also going to do a hidden hitch as well.

Had one made for my truck by a local fabricator and good friend . Truck already had massive brackets for the step bumper made out of 1/4 inch plate we just added to it .

Re: Class 4 Trailer Hitch

I installed a 37042 Reese multi fit class III hitch in my 69 C-10. I moved my gas tank lcation to the rear so the crossmember you had to remove for the gas tank to go in I welded it to the very rear of the frame so the last crossmember is still there. I used 1/4" plates and drilled them for the hitch to bolt to them and the frame rails. This kept the hitch in the same postition as it was when it bolted directly to the frame.
