About to send mine in and they didn't mention they weren't doing it anymore. Hope it doesn't go to a black hole!

They need to focus more manpower on development of new trim parts for more applications. Consequently they have decides to suspend their rebuild service for vent windows. They prefer to supply parts to the shops that do this service instead. The good news from this bad is he agreed to honor his commitment and do one last set for #the77_remix .
Thank you Derek, I promise to make it up to you.
I plan to pull them today and get them shipped out this week.

Derek said it was not an easy decision. I'm sure they will honor any commitments they have already made.

lmao! You said it, I was thinking it! No disrespect to N2TRUX!!

Was that the only game in town on rebuilding these?

N2TRUX, would they be willing to document their rebuild processes on this last set they do for you and then share with us? Maybe put on your YouTube?

I know there are vendors out there that provide this service, but I dont have a list. I will check with PRP and see what they have.

I guess I can say that #The77_Remix has officially begun. This weekend Chris and I pulled the door panels so we could remove the vent windows. As mentioned above the entire assembly will be shipped to Precision Replacement Parts for Greg Stroik to work his magic and make them better than new.

Since this is an older restoration we will analyze everything as we go to determine if rebuilding is adequate or if replacement is necessary.

The first step to removing the vent assemblies is to roll down the windows and remove the door panels. With the door panels removed you can pull the belt line trim and the window run seal.

Grab the window run seal and pull it down from its channel then remove it from the window run channel. Just so you know, its almost impossible to remove the old belt line trim that's attached to the door without destroying it. If you plan to do this job, factor in a new trim set.

With the window down, the belt line trim and door panels removed, you now have access to the vent windows. There will be three phillips screws on the perimeter of the door frame that may be partially covered by the door seal. Remove those and look below the vent assembly for a small round hole. Inside that hole is a metal screw with a 10mm head. Take care when removing it as it may be rusted and is prone to fall inside the door when loose.

Below the upper hole about 12" down you will see two 12mm bolt heads very close together. Remove those and the vent assembly is ready to come out. First tilt the window back to remove it from the channel. Then rotate the vent and work it out of the door.

We inspected inside the door and noted that there was a small amount of surface rust around the perimeter. This will be removed at the metal treated before the door goes back together.

I guess the Truck and Car shop approves my new look. I had a buddy showing me where I could find a 81-91 tailgate band for Scarlett and found this on the cover of their 73-87 catalog.

Unfortunately there are no updates that I can post. I have been diligently working with Vendors behind the scenes. At this point there is nothing carved in stone, so I cant release information.

Currently my shop time is focused on getting Scarlett ready for C10s in the Park.

Ok, its a month or two behind but I am working on moving forward, so here's the latest updates.

At C10s in the Park Scarlett was on display between Gears,Wheels, and Motors Precision Replacement Parts and Slosh Tubz This was a convenient location, since I was picking up parts from these vendors.

Derek from PRP delivered the vent windows they had restored. He also shared some great news. Precision Replacement Parts has expanded its staff to allow them to continue to rebuild vent windows. Contact Derek Churchyard for details.

Mike Losh brought a truck filled with Slosh Tubz, Slosh Panelz, and his latest product Slosh Bucketz , a reproduction of the highly sought after 67-72 buddy buckets.

He also delivered a set of Slosh Tubz 73-87 smooth Mild Tubz. The 77 will be much smoother under the hood very soon.

If your following my other build thread, you already know about the latest adventures of Scarlett. If not, take a look here. "Scarlett" gets a spring in her step- LINK

After C10s in the Park we were asked by RideTech to help bring their latest 73-87 coil over kit to market. The link above will take you to the install. While there, I met with Mike Losh once again. He brought a blank firewall filler panel that will be used as a template for the a/c system in the 77.

As mentioned earlier we have teamed with RestoMod air on this project. They will be providing several of their innovative products including a Haymaker II Custom Air Conditioning System.

The firewall filler panel from Slosh Tubz will have a bead rolled recess to accommodate a RestoMod supply line bulkhead They offer several styles, so that will be determined as we progress with the install.

I recently received a kit of the RestoMod Air Membrane For those that aren't familiar, Membrane is the only true thermal insulation with sound dampening material combined. Several companies offer sound deadner, or thermal barrier but no one has combined the two until now.
I will be doing some thermal testing to show the difference this barrier makes as the install progresses.

I promise it will be very soon. I had planned to start last night, but had a blow out and a meeting that ran long. :(

Was PRP able to get back with you about other shops that perform this service? Jumped the gun and saw a few posts ago that you mentioned that they are still doing them.

Re: #the 77_remix

I managed to juggle me schedule and give a bit of shop time to the 77 this weekend. I worked on trouble shooting minor issues with Scarlett, rebuilt a 2011 Silverado front suspension with my Son in Law, and cleaned up the aftermath.

I had pulled the battery from the 77 dues to charging issues on Scarlett, so that was returned. I fired it up and cycled the air system then cleaned around it for easier access. I plan to pull the bed this week, so I wanted as much space as possible.
Watch for updates soon.

I'm still waiting on some parts to come through. With SEMA at the end of the week, all the vendors are wrapping up projects and heading to Vegas. Next week I will be able to show some new parts that cant be reveled quite yet.
