I think I started buying the magazine in the late 80’s but that was a loooong time ago.

That was the publication for the National Chevy/GMC Truck Association. It came out every other month for members. Free classifieds! I had a running ad for tow hooks and K/20 hubcaps. I think it came out in '89 or '91 and the last issue was in '96. I have all the issues in the binders they sold. I think it got up to about 16,000 members. The club stemmed off of "Late Great Chevys" Impala club. The editor passed away and no one picked it up. The internet was just kicking in. I wasn't using it but I think they had started a website near the end. I still have a couple ball caps and a t-shirt. Used to have the sticker on all my trucks' driver side wing vent. They would have an annual show. At first I believe was Ogden, UT, then moved to "Magic Mt, CA". Seth Doulton was very active in getting that going and keeping it going, as well as the shows.

Heh heh. Well, I was around back then. It was a great mixture of originals to customs, all through the years (up to '72), and all sizes n shapes. The big thing back then for modifying was TPI/700r4 swaps and car front clips (on '50s trucks). Jim Sheckle (IIRC) in Ohio was the go-tp guy for those swaps. People were happy with how the 60-72s left the factory back then. Great tech articles. I wished it was monthly. Waiting two months was painful!

I've got issues from '98 through 2000, always used to look forward to getting them and always had great info in them too. We had the National Chevy/GMC Truck Association decal on our old '72 Blazer and I had one on my '74 K/20 before it finally crumbled away.

I remember looking forward for the magazine, too. You never knew what truck would be featured. I hated to see those stickers go when the trucks did. The first ones were clear background, perfect for a window. Then came white background. I still have a couple ball caps, tea towels, and a very delicate t-shirt for special occasions.

Obviously I'm late to the party.

Does anyone know if the Nat'l Association had anything to do with the formation of the Light Commercial Vehicle Association, whose "Classic Trucks" newsletter began circa 1980 & became "This Old Truck" & (when This Old House threatened to sue), "Vintage Truck" magazines? CT ended in Dec., '92 & TOT began in Jan., '93.

As part of a purchase to help complete my TOT/VT collection, I bought a Nov-Dec '84 LCVA Newsletter, an Apr '91 PNPIP, and Sep-Oct '91, Summer, Sep-Oct, & Nov-Dec '92 CT's. I'll complete my 31-year consecutive collection of TOT/VT in early '24, and hope to pass along what is, for the vast majority, a pristine gathering, plus some 60 extra copies.

Thanks for the help in filling gaps. :gmc2:

That group was started by Seth Doulton I had my 48 at their 1982 Chevy-GMCTrukin Nationals in Ogden and have been looking for the copy with coverage of the event ever since. There should be a copy of a photo of my son and I with my 48 pickup in it.
