Re: Restoring Rusty
194 168 are the same size glass envelope peanut bulb.
168 is actually higher wattage more light. I assumed that was the bulb in use in that socket. I'd have to look at a 73-86 CK bulb chart to be sure which one is used there. |
Re: Restoring Rusty
Well dang! The do alternate with the parking lights on. Whew, I thought I was losing it.

Re: Restoring Rusty
You have a full on fabrication shop on the side of your house yet the pavers and house look like there’s nothing to see there move along.

Re: Restoring Rusty
Oh and a paint booth!

Don’t forget the tumbler.
I’m not sure which is more impressive - the fabrication or the clean up. |

so we almost made it one year without a true LS related issue
however yesterday I replaced this little guy (pronounced: "expensive" $73) aka the fuel pressure regular the problem started right after I replaced that front driver side turn signal light bulb, so of course I went chasing electrical problem, ha ha the issue was that the truck went from starting on the very first try each and every time to never wanting to start on the first try but always 100% of the time simply starting on the second try after checking all my electrical connections (grounds, grounds, and more grounds, ha ha) checking every fuse and every relay, I really dreaded having to drop the fuel tank to replace my brand new Spectra fuel pump which everyone talks bad about yet it has been wonderful for me - so I said well the fuel pressure regulator is expensive but at least it's really easy to get to, ha ha |

That’s cool. Glad he’s finally able to get out and about.
Are you experiencing some weird gravitational issue? |

next up for Rusty... get the stock bench seat reupholstered professionally ($550) with new replacement foams from a junk yard I scored a few years back (cause knew these are monster EXPENSIVE!), going with black, vinyl back and sides and cloth sit down parts and back rests I think that's what Dale the seat dude said
thank you all for offering advice on how to DIY this but I refuse to do it myself, ha ha, too old and grumpy and I want this done right, I did a seat or two in the past and it's just not my cup of tea (hope you all understand and won't hold it against me in the Court of Trucks) |

Is that a seat out of a 81-87? Not that it matters necessarily. I have a 73-80 I could swap you (PT-3) if it ever becomes reasonable to travel around again. How are you guys doing down there? Most of the numbers are coming out of LA, yeah? |
Re: Restoring Rusty
The San Francisco bay area is likely just as bad.
Living in high population density areas increases your risk. |

Rusty is looking good out there.

It's all about perspective.
Comparing SF county to LA county is apples to oranges... LA county is huge. I've driven all over that county for work in the 1990s. It's easily twice the land area of Rhode Island or Delaware and then some. At 10x plus more population it's far more densely populated than either of those Eastern seaboard states... LA county has almost the population of the state of Ohio packed into a land area around twice the size of RI. The SF Bay Area is Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and Solano Counties. Of those SF Bay Area counties San Francisco is tiny tiny tiny... literally almost just a tiny little bit bigger than the city of San Francisco. Considering that fact... the infection rate for that tiny high population density area is insane. Attachment 2030727 Enough of that lets talk about trucks some more. |
