Drive shaft and trailing arm question

First of all, how do you replace the bushings on the trailing arms? They are out of the truck. Secondly, how do you take the drive shaft apart at the carrier bearing?

Re: Drive shaft and trailing arm question

I used a ball joint press to change out the bushings and for the drive shaft remove the ujoint and remove the bolt that's in the center of the shaft.

I used a torch to remove my trailing arm bushings. Which carrier bearing do you have?

first off if you live near an autozone take advandage of their tool lending program. Follow this link for overhaul of driveshaft. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=171772 I don't know why the pictures don't show up anymore, but at least you can read through it....shame though because it was a very informative write up with great photos on driveshaft overhaul...maybe something the admins can fix......Rick
