Jeffs70's Custom C-10 Build

:chevy: Ok here it Goes everyone, I have finely thought to start a Build thread on my project. This is actually the first time I have ever done any customizing Let alone restore anything before, so I am learning how to do it as I go. Also I am going to show pictures of as much as Possible to catch up to where I am at now.

I Purchased my truck back in 2007 and drove it many years the way it was in this first picture

This is how I drove it for a few years. The guy I purchased it off of had put a 1977 Stepper on it, also I had to raise the front suspension with stock springs due to the fact he had a flip kit on the rear and cut the front springs so much the truck was bottomed out.
Attachment 687426

This Picture is updated of how I changed beds due to the fact the 1977 Stepper was a rattle trap and as my brother talked me into getting a 1988 stepper and putting on it, because he Liked that style. Well I never was into that style after I did it. You will also notice I shaved the door handles and all the marker lights.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...m/100_0034.jpg

Customized the 1988 Stepper with shaved rear Steps and Roll pan, as well as the Tail gate.

Original front view of my 70 with just some paint on the bent up grill and bumper.

Here is the rats nest lol, 383 Stroker
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...m/100_0037.jpg

Interior shot of my dash, I made these plates out of aluminum thinking they would look cool. but I did not really get into them as much as I thought so those are being changed as well as the console.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/data/2/100_0040.jpg

I changed the face of my truck to a 67-68 style with a Roll pan to fit with the style I Had when the 88 stepper was on it.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...ba74f53088.jpg

This all shows how universal of customizing you can do with these trucks IMO. I have went with just doing things at times to see what I may like and dislike. and Now I found my rout to not liking the newer bed look.

Ok I think that maybe enough of the in the past pictures, I am now going to start with a Frame off, If anyone is interested in more pictures of something please do ask and I will be glad to work on those for you. I love to take pictures as much as you all love to see them. :metal:

Looks like a great project. You have a good imagination and it looks like it will go far with your combination of creativity and skill. By the way things are going, I think it'll be an awesome ride.
Any ideas on the color choice?

Here is some pictures of my frame off restore and Paint of the frame after alot of hard work of sandblasting, wire wheel, wire brushing, and simple green and a solvent brush did the trick.

This Frame was also off a donor truck I purchased along with the fleet side bed and some other items I wanted to use. I wanted to go with coil spring rear this time around due to I know it always has been a much smoother ride IMO.

Thank you DT1, I am working it as best as I can at the moment. Glad to have the Equipment in my shop to do the work. that is the biggest helper of all having everything needed. Yeah My imagination never stops lol. for a color, I have thought something like silver or a tan with silver flakes, not to sure as of yet though. as that said, after all this customizing I will be pulling all this apart just for paint lol. what another thing to look forward to LMAO.

Here is a Side view of it put back together with the New Fleet Side bed.
Attachment 687462

LOL here is a picture of somethings that happened while my cab was on the trailer during the winter of last year. It was getting some weather and suddenly I walked by my truck to go work on the frame in the shop and noticed a circle on the quarter panel of the cab. I went and barely tapped on it with my finger and pops out a circle of bondo. The P.O had patched a CB Antenna hole with out any sheet metal.

here is a side view of the body work finished for the most part on the passenger side.

Here is some progress on shaving the drip rails
Attachment 687596

now here is the big deal I am working on as of now. Shaving and customizing my Dash. If you look at what I have done it may look familiar a bit. It is infact the skin of my glovebox flipped around backwards to a custom design. I wanted to have something different then everyone else, But with a some what similar to factory style. I infact will be doing the same similar to the driver side where my gauges will sit.

Thanks Slick. I should be done with the front cover in the next few days, if I dont slack off haha. The dash was an after thought. I just wanted something different then most and I never did use the glovebox any how, All I think a glovebox is good for is cluttering crap in, and If I am just going to use it as a weekend driver then why do I need a clutterbox lol. The outcome of it will show better on it all.

Over 230 views on your new build thread in one day, and it's not even moved to the Builds yet! Not bad bro. You will be harrassed, until you do not slack, by us all. I almost earned the name Slacker67. Are you planning to run a stock bumper on the front??

Yeah! its nice to see the views going up and today is the only day I have slacked other then I Just got back from the wrecking yard to get me a push rod for my brakes, wish there was more there I could have scored on lol.

LOL I noticed them hounding you a bit bro. as far as a bumper yes I am going front and rear stock bumpers. I want that clean smooth look. I even have crossed the thought of Air Ride.

I am not much into the huge glovebox or clutter box what ever you may call it. lol It just is another place to put alot of trash IMO so I figured I would put it to use as a Place to put a TV maybe. I am not totally sure on that TV part as of yet. As far as having a final image I am very pleased with what I have thought of it looking like. It will be not to much different then a stock look other then a reversed glove box door and instrument panel backwards as well with a few minor details to it.

Thank you lolife, Yeah I was not much into the stepper that didnt belong on this year any how. Now if it was an original stepper it would have pleased me fine.

Thank you legendary, I agree I am very pleased wait this upgrade LOL the other was just not my taste.

Also for updates coming up I will be showing off some pictures of my progress on the center console and dash work as well as with the finishing touches on my radiator/core support cover.

I Have came to some changes in my mind with my dash. I will be leaving it to look factory but with a little twist. and Yes I know I did some customizing on it LOL. but that is all going to be useful.

Re: Jeffs70's Custom C-10 Build

ok I will have some pictures to post tomorrow, I have been working on my center console for the last 4 days and ran into a few minor problems that got me going longer then I expected on it. I am sure you all will be pleased with my progress either way when I show you what I have accomplished with this. First time Fiberglassing a console so I learned some new things lol
