WTB: 1964 C10 V8 Thermostat housing & Upper radiator mount

Looking for an original '64 V8 thermostat housing with the straight forward outlet.

Also need a V8 upper radiator mount. I know LMC carries them, but checking here before going the repro route.

Thanks

Is the thermostat housing your looking for aluminum or cast iron? Seems I seen something like that in the parts shed the other day but didn't look closely enough at it. Was busy digging for something else, Let me know which you are looking for and I will get back to digging into the parts shed. Maybe, who knows?

Not sure as mine came with the newer style at 45 degrees to accommodate the wrong and way too small radiator. Assume it is aluminum, but let know what you find.

The one that came off my old small block looked to be cast aluminum. It wasn't the original engine though. It warped and wouldn't seal up anymore, so I purchased a new one made by dorman. The new one works great if you can't find a good original

3 Attachment(s)
Actually found TWO thermostat housings, one aluminum and one cast iron. Been playing with cars and trucks since the early 70s so have accumulated a fair amount of the older stuff. The cast aluminum housing is in good useable condition with the normal and very light pitting. It is marked #3737223 cast in the lower outer edge. Fits SBC / BBC 1955-1966 Corvette, full size passenger and truck applications. The cast iron housing is marked W1453 and is a direct early after market auto parts house replacement for the same range of years. Both have a nice flat bottom mounting area, no cracks and good bolt holes.

Not the lesser chrome after market housings offered today. I do deal a bit in the early tri-five Chevys as I have a restored '57 two door and since both are correct for those years am pricing choice of either at $35 shipped, money order payment as I do not have a Paypal account. If not wanting either at that price, understand, but they do fit the earlier GM offerings and I am firm at that price. No harm, no foul if you decide to pass, totally understand.

Thanks as I appreciate you digging through your stash. Curious which one is the original aluminum? Assume it is on the left?

I stumbled on one at LMC while ordering some radiator shroud parts and added it to the order. Depending on the quality, I may still grab one of yours.

Thanks again!

Correct, the original aluminum t-stat housing is the one on the left of the pic.

Don't currently have any upper radiator mounts, be aware there are two types. One size for both the 2 or 3 row radiator and one for the heavy duty 4 row radiator normally found in an A/C truck. They show up on the parts board fairly often so just keep an eye out. No idea about the after market offerings from LMC as to fit and quality but be aware, LMC does not have a very heavy following here on the board due to their reputation for poor customer service. The parts offered by them seem to be hit or miss quite often. Good luck in your project. :chevy:
