Man that sucks about your accident. Glad to see you got a fair shake from the insurance and not a bunch of bs. I'm not the type to tell a person what to do but.... KEEP THE LONGBED! Shortbeds are cool too but there is somethin' about a slammed longbed especially 67's and 8's. Keep up the good work just thought i'd throw in my 2 cents.

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Well storm is finally gone im going to hunt parts today...need to ask about the pile of truck stuff across the street, and few miles down an alsehimer guy has 4 of these trucks, and my atv buddy has a swb no rust for 100. So when I get my truck done im going to either cut a lwb frame or find a swb and make a swb truck, and build a motor with my insurance/other $. This is the plan and its subject to change every week lol. Got my carrier bearing on. now I need to find a ride to town to get 2 new u joints and someone to drill my drop blocks, and I ordered the wrong U bolts so im waiting still. Ok going outside! Wish me luck!

Re: "Rice Rocket'

What went down today:

-trailer made from back of truck across the street-dint get ahold of owner maybe tomorow.

-man with alshimers, he wasnt home, doesnt look like he was living there anymore, looked abandoned and broken windows and padlocked doors :( he was a character! I left a note and emailed his relatives (has other trucks on craigslist).

Pulled my bedside (PITA). Tomorow hopefully i'll get U joints put in and rearend back under truck, then next day or so get U bolts and drop blocks on and a panhad bar.

lets hope! Where in TN ya at hubscrub?

I just talked to the relatives of the alsheimer guy, he said for 2 trucks, lwb BASIC trucks. I just wanna few pieces offa em hes gonna haul em for scrap while its high!! darnit whys scrap gotta be high now, I gave 300 for a highly optinoned gmc sierra lol. i'll probaly just get what I need (if i can get it at a good price and let em go, i really want the 67 small back window though! may offer him 200 for it and take the panhard bar off the 69 chevy..

What would a 67 gmc lwb with no bed and with a inline 6 bring at the metalyard? at 10.50 per 100

whats one of these trucks weigh?

sorry to hear about the accident. but at least you can use that wrecked bedside to practice for your filler neck. once you get that bed fixed it'll be a beautiful truck again. i like seeing kids our age working on these trucks. keep at it

Re: "Rice Rocket'

our age? how old are you lol thanks I got my driveshaft done today...VA72C10 was kind enough to donate a track arm/panhard bar etc whatever to the cause, free he even payed shipping!! So im about to get dad to pick it up with the tractor slide my rearend back under her get brakes bled and ready for trackarm/panhard whatever! I also got a call from the alshimers guys....family? They are scrapping the 2 trucks (no pics will get some) 69-70 chevy lwb I# 3ott and scrapping a 67 gmc 30tt I6 lwb (no bed). I can have them for what he'll get at scrapyard or buy parts off of the trucks. im going to get the heater controls (I need) and antenna and few other things...if anyone needs any parts or wants the trucks i can PM the guys # he also has a 67 chevy lwb step plain jane truck complete. Idk whats gonna happen to it. also has a 72 1 ton too, I think there asking 900 for it.

Re: "Rice Rocket'

My truck was a 3 on the tree and the guy before me moved to 3 on the floor...I HATE IT!! If it would cost me so much id put it back on the tree. To me the shifter is to close to the bench seat it actually touches it in 1st and 3rd. Plus if you want your girl to get snuggie with you the shifter really isnt a turn on it just gets in the way....lol.

Sorry just realised i only read first page of thread.

The old guys GMC did it have the Grill and headlight bezels still in it?

Cause im looking for a GMC grill and bezel to swap out my '70 chevy grill, so it will match better with my title. My title is for a '72 GMC.
