Yard art
 

Was gonna put this in the square section but thought all should see it.
It’s what I call yard art. Looks good sitting out front of the house.
Too shiny to climb the hills, too tall to fit in the garage, too big for the daily commute. You get the picture.
But it is ‘for sale red’.
And you’ll need a ladder to get in.
And advertised as a chev but it’s a gmc.
Price is up there for just a toy.
Price converts to about 25000 US bucks.
Not bad if they’ll let you take it across the border right now.

The fun in a truck like that is dreaming it up and building it. When I was into stuff like that, I would 4 wheel it and bust my arse trying to keep it clean, and sell before it got too crappy. That's too much money to spend to go enjoy the way I did my big all-built 4wds. You gotta love it enough to not mind the climb in. I wouldn't call it yard art. That would be insane to let sit in the yard to deteriorate. I'd call it a show truck, something to enjoy taking to all the truck shows and 4wd jamborees. It's good for the cruise-ins and just cruising. Not everyone's idea of a street cruiser, but if you're a 4wd lover it makes just as much sense as a crewcab dually with tall wheels and low profile tires that can't haul squat. Or any other street truck you can't haul in, like a truck with raised bed floor that a cooler could flop over the side in. You don't park that truck in a suburban attached garage, but I'm sure that truck was built and is kept in a shop with plenty of door and ceiling height. Just one of those to each his own kinda things, I guess. Not for everyone. But I can say that about a whole lot of trucks these days. It sure is a sharp looker.

Could have taken more and better pictures. At least move the step ladder on the only shot with the whole truck in it

Because I am a truck lover and mechanical minded person I appreciate the time, money, and work it takes to build something like that even though it's not something I really like. As was stated before, just like the raised bed, slammed trucks. I get the technical and mechanical aspects of it even if I'd never do it myself.

Similar to show cars and trucks for me. I like looking at them but to truly appreciate an auto I've got to be able to drive it and enjoy that experience.

Believe me, I’ve got plenty of yard art. That’s definitely not yard art. The body is straight and all the panels are there, the paint is shiny and all the same color scheme, the tires all still have air, etc etc.
I’d drive the hell out of that one.

I watched a guy and his wife with 3 kids get into a jacked up 4 door Chevy.
He pulled the ladder out from the passenger rear door, set it down for the kids to get in, then the wife in the front door. Around to his drivers side door, climbed in, reached down with a hook and pulled it inside.
And off they went!
I’d hate to have to abandon ship if a ladder was needed to get out!

love them big beautiful chevy/gmc 4x4's.
like Special says, aint no worse than a truck dropped to the ground that scrapes it's belly over every speed bump.
and you would not be able to build a truck like that north of the border for anywhere near what he's asking for it....i know, i have approx 30k into my lifted square crewcab, and it don't look as nice as that....

any info on where you found it Geezer?
went to used.ca victoria and couldn't find it

Thanks , It changes a bunch, :lol: Now there is a '35 Chevy cowl and dash sitting at the top of the drive. O'yeah and a '35 fuel tank too.

Shucks, I guess that cowl will be running down the road some day. I have a rear corner from a Model A Sedan in my front yard. It gets obscured all summer by a tulip vine. Should be visible now. I'll snap a picture once the sun comes up.

I was taking my mom shopping who was 77 at the time, and this guy we saw. Had a ladder set up so his 70++ year old mom could get into his 3500 Silverado.

She told me I would write you out if the will if I had to do that.
