Thanks LT I'm glad you enjoyed it. This kind of racing is very competitive and can be a challenge for sure. My engine is a little on the extreme side for the class but there are plenty of 1000hp and up powered cars out there too. Although most of them are closer to the 2800lb minimum and I'm at 3550lbs. One of the cool things is I have friends all over the country that I only see at the races.

I ripped the cluster back out today. I fixed the speedometer to zero. I also got the the fuel gauge to read closer to my wallet. Just above empty. Lol

The odometer still is on 454. My speedo was stuck on 30mph. I fixed that and managed to get the fuel needle in a more realistic position. Just above empty, kinda like my pockets.

I thought I had a big problem with my new Alternator setup. It just pans out as ignorance on my part. I got a special pulley that uses an HTD belt just like my Dry Sump Pump. I thought it wasn't going to work. After talking to the guys at Jones Racing where it came from. I thought I was going to have to convert to a different alternator. Nope! I go by the Alternator shop this morning. Tada he plucks out the spacer and my pulley fits lol.

This is my new drive setup. It's a 49 tooth on the crank and 22 on the alternator.

It's so cute. Lol Hell I'm glad it will work. I ordered two custom length belts today.

That's some serious drive power for the alternator.....!!

The reason behind the overkill is the instant load coming off the trans brake.

I was also turning the alternator too fast with the V belt deal. I couldn’t get a replacement v pulley for my splined drive. So I was kinda forced to adapt.

What do you do when you're bored? Find something to entertain you. I repurposed a header tube from Blue and made a custom exhaust extension for Whitey. This tube had over 160hp running through it. I think it will handle the little 350. Lol

On a side note. Even if you don't have an ATV or a Motorcycle that little jack is pretty handy.

I went with a Frankland quick change rear end. With my 4:11 ring gear in it I have 128 gear ratios to chose from that I can change in 15 minutes. I think they run from 2.11 to about 8.50 or so. It also looks cool. So there's that. Thank you for your time.

You think a Franklin QC would stand up to the torque load that un-light body, BBC, & those tires slap it with?

It's a QC-80 case from a guy I pitted for when I was young. I took it to the Frankland factory in Pennsylvania and had them build it for 1000 hp. Moser axles. I'm running a Bicknel torque arm with the triple biscuit to take up some of the shock. I had it made to fit my 53 3100 and my 12.88" Wilwood brakes. It's going behind the 1000 hp blown 292 I'm building. we will see which one blows up first.

I've always heard of them used in various racing/street apps but not so much in a drag-strip app similar to this. I always assumed they were strong/tough but wasn't sure (didn't know) if they can take the abuse of a heavy vehicle (>3k lbs) & high shock drag-strip venue launches. Appreciate the insight.
