C30 9ft Stepside dimensions??

Hey guys,
I have searched like crazy and am looking to determine where the extra ft is added to 9ft Stepside.
The reason I am asking is because I am trying to figure out how to cut it down for a patina shortbox project. I know the dimensions if it was a regular 8 ft box but not 9ft.
For the record the box is really really rough so I don't mind cutting up.

Cheers

Should have been on 133" wheel base. So 6" on both sides of the axle to go from 8' to 9'.

Hopefully you can get somebody with a tape measure to verify that on their 9' stepper.

Ya I am also curious if any of the components are longer like the steps or step fenders. I don't think they are but that would mean the extra would be behind the rear step.

What is the length of the short box Stepside box side if you measure top rail?

Man, I'd love to have a step side, and a 9 foot bed would be premium. I have no answer to your question, though somebody ought to be able to provide a picture of the dimensions at some point.

The steps are longer on a 9 foot step side than on an 8 foot. The fenders are the same. I have both size steps at home and can post a pic of the difference tonight after work.

Very interesting, love to see pics.

So I guess I would need actual length of short box steps and cut these down to those dimensions.

I like when I guy learns something new and things get interesting😂 Not up on my one tones.

Why not just sell the 9' bed to someone who needs it and buy a short bed?

A couple of reasons, the bed is really rough and only good for a patina style build. The build is a accumulation of parts I have kicking around. And most of all I have not been able to find a red short bed in my area over the last 3 years.

Not too sure if you can see the tape measure all that well, but the total length on the 8 foot step is approximately 35 inches. The 9 foot step is approximately 41 inches. I also included side pics of an 8 foot stepside truck verses a 9 foot.

Thanks for the pics, very informative.
Anyone have dimensions on a short step, maybe measuring back vertical wall part of step?

Measurement from head panel to tailgate inside the bed is 97 inches.
