auxillary battery tray

If you do not mind moving your washer bottle you can install one of these. If you use a continuous solenoid that turns on with the key ON, it will be a functioning auxillary battery.

That looks like a nice kit....who makes it?

I bought an aftermarket tray previously but it seems to becoming more expensive.

This time around I made my own by cutting up an old, passenger side original tray and retrofitting it.

But, I like this set up...looks good.

I added one to my 72K5. I got mine long time ago from an online sale. Can't recal what it was pulled from but at one point in 67-72 GM did install a Driverside batt tray.
That kit looks good ~ drivers side is just a mirror image of the pass side tray :metal:

Oh and I use www.hellroaring.com Iso/Combiner to keep both batts charged and the second batt is 100% backup or I can combine the batt power when winching heavy loads. Not cheep but awesome product! :metal:

I make the side brackets and purchase the tray.

Also, the radiator does not have to be removed to mount the supports as it bolts or metal screws to the front radiator support. One or 2 holes need to be drilled but it also uses an existing hole for lineup. Attached is a pic of the solenoid setup. positive battery cable goes to the solenoid connection seen. White wire is from the ignition ON. 10 gauge black on far side goes to the main battery --- fused.

I know this is an old thread, but really am hoping you have the measurements for the side panels on the battery tray?

Measurements or a template? I may have a pair without the tray. Rockauto used to have the trays for a 67-72 c/k10.

Not trying to stifle OP's brackets. While hard to find OEM aux battery trays can still be found. Just post a WTB in parts. IMO better options for an aux battery than a relay/solenoid. Dual output alternator or an isolator.

Mostly measurements. There was an old thread on it, but cannot seem to find it

You can buy one already built and painted. A quick bolt in.
