'72 LWB BBC/Pro-Street Build

Greetings. This is my first post, so I figure I would start a build thread for my '72 LWB C10. Seeing how life has a habit of getting in the way, my build is going much slower than I'd like.

I bought her in 05/11 in Flower Mounds, TX. Was barely able to make the drive home in OKlahoma City, OK due to engine issues. Left the guys house went a few miles to get something to eat before the 3 1/2 hr. drive home and it wouldn't re-start. LOL, not a good start so far. The battery was dead, carb was flooding and someone had the timing way too far advanced. Luckily, an autoparts store was across the street and was able to get her going again.

Currently it has a 350 / 700R4 and the original 12 bolt 3.73 rear end. The motor is now tuned up and runs great, so I can atleast drive it during the build. Plans is for a 496 BBC 550+ HP, TH400 trans and debating on the rear end. Dumping money in the 12 bolt to keep it "bowtie" or swap for a built 9". Ideas??

Stage 1: Tub and narrow the rear end and run 31x18.50x15 tires on 15x14 rims with 4.11 (or close) gears. C-Notch the rear with 4" drop in front.
Stage 2: Replace 350/700R4 for the 496/TH400 setup.
Stage 3: Finish Interior
Stage 4: Finish paint and exterior

The goal is for a weekend street / strip toy, that could be driven to work whenever I want.

Don't look for an overnight build, but will be a work in progress... Comments welcome!
