Diesel swap
Hello I have a 1970 k20 and I am thinking of engine swaps and a good candidate is the 5.9 Cummins. I was wondering if anyone who has done this before tell me how difficult is this swap.

Re: Diesel swap
I haven't done the swap but would like too. We've had guys here do swaps and they worked out really nice. Not speaking first hand I can say I know it's not a difficult swap, just don't know specifics. But someone will come along soon. Member Dieselwrencher comes to mind first hand. He's got a Longhorn he built into a 1t 4wd with Cummins. There are others

There is actually a "Diesel Conversions" forum on here. I don't know how much traffic it gets but I bet there is some good info on there. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page you will see a "Forum Jump" box. Click on the little down arrow on the right side and a box will pop up showing all of the different forums on the board. Scroll through them until you see "Diesel Conversions" and click on it, it will take you right to it..... I could have just posted a link to it but this way anyone that didn't know it was there will easily be able to find the different forums on here. LockDoc |
Re: Diesel swap
I’m doing a mechanically injected 6.5TD/NV4500/NP205 in my 71 Blazer. It’s in the home stretch but not what I would call a bolt in by any means.
Good luck on your project when you get on it! |
