71 c10 ac questions
So I have been in the process of completely redoing the ac on my 71 C10, and I have a few questions. The first, which I am working on right now, is what the hell is this thing?? It seems to be a low pressure switch? I'm not sure but I haven't replaced it because I don't know what it is or does, and needed some help. Also, I have been trying to blow through the system with air and it is getting blocked somewhere by the evap, I'm thinking that that switch, or the valve in the second picture is closed and not letting anything through. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: 71 c10 ac questions
One other question, where is the expansion valve / orifice tube located on the stock ac setup for a 4 seasons AC? Thanks!
And I will try to get those pictures up, I linked them to imigur, so maybe that's not right? |

One other thing though, and keep in mind I did this with the old expansion valve and the same pressure regulator valve, I blew air through the evaporator core, and it seemed to be blocked. I'm not sure if the expansion valve or the pressure regulator might be blocked or have a valve that is blocking the air, or if my evap is just junked. Thanks! |
Re: 71 c10 ac questions
Alright guys, well after replacing everything (almost) and running both vacuum and pressure tests, I have concluded that my system still sucks. First off was a leaky valve, which I replaced, and not the condenser core has a giant hole in the side, so I'm going to have to get a new one. It would be a lot better if the one I got from Vintage Air actually fit tho haha.

Here is the post I did when I rebuilt my A/C. I hope it helps you out.
