c4 front end

hi would like to know if anyone has used a c4 Corvette front suspention by simply bolting or welding the whole front on to a frame and leave the mono leaf in. or do mostly use the a arms and spindle and a after market crossmember thanks Denis

Still a work in progress but have a 3100 AD stock frame with 'Flat Out Engineering' bracketry welded in. Uses the C4 front suspension and full rear end. Full coilover setup instead of stock fiberglass suspension. From what I've read is the earlier C4 front and rear suspension improves the handling substantially to stock(duh), but the later is even better. The truck project I bought was from a 84 C4 teardown. We will find out by next summer how it does......hopefully.

I think the adjustability of the coilovers is a huge advantage over the fiberglass with shocks setup, MHO.

I did not do the conversion on mine as I bought it as a started project. This one has the whole corvette K member grafted to the original frame with coil overs. I would think the coilovers would be easier to adjust if needed over the leaf. Steve

Re: c4 front end

I too am doing a FlatOut 84-87 C4 IFS/IRS's (with coil overs) on my 55.1 GMC 100.

The front suspension is 95% complete and the rear will start in the next few weeks.

I am not doing the install myself, I am not that talented and know my limitations.

What I will say is the man that is doing the install is a master at his craft!

He takes video's of the entire process, that's been pretty cool!
