N brushed silver dash and door panel trim installed. I started to notice that the dash pad does not fit to my liking. Not sure what I am going to do about it. Bought it about 3 years ago and it been in the truck since. Just not the fit/finish I want anymore. Its a Cheyenne Pick Up Parts replacement, but just not the best fit in this truck. :waah:

I should have taken the daily driver mats out before taking pictures...:lol:

I will see if I can get a few pictures of the areas of concern when the truck is back at the house. Its around the bezel area and the leading edge along the windshield are the main areas I don't like.

Korbin works for Jonathan, the Founder and President of Sparc Industries in Tyler, TX. So today, Henry was the model for a photo shoot for a new product being offered by Sparc Industries. Korbin and Jonathan have been working on this new wheel for a little while and the first one is shown installed in Henry in the pictures below. HUGE thank you to Jonathan to ask us to use Henry for the photos of his new wheel. It is available in a machined finish as well as the black finish shown here. There are a couple of leather wrap colors available from them too.

Henry will be with Jonathan and Korbin at the GoodGuys event in Nashville, TN on May 28-30, 2021. If you are going to the event, go check them out and say howdy. My daughter graduates HS that weekend so, I am not able to attend.

Looks great! Wonder if they can mill you a custom horn button? It'd be cool if someone could mill a billet Vega steering wheel. Henry's lookin' great!

They can do just about anything with Billet Aluminum!

As for a logo, they are working on getting GM licensing so that they can do the bowtie, GM, GMC, etc. logos...

For today's update on Henry:

New Wheels & Tires thanks to Mike Cottone of Cottone Customs Automotive Accessories. US Mags Bullet in chrome finish. 20"x8" with 245/45-20 fronts, 20"x9.5" with 315/35-20 rears.

Henry is at a PDR guy today getting a few blemishes worked out. Plan is for Korbin to take it to C10 Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway this coming weekend. I won't be there, but if you see the truck and a young guy around it, give him a shout!

I think I mentioned that Henry got selected to model a new steering wheel for Sparc Industries. I know that there would be a page in the catalog for the specific wheel, but what I was not expecting and totally surprised about was that the interior of Henry is the COVER of the new product guide!

Scoti, Sorry this took so long to get the pictures. The top of the dash is wavy, dips down at the center speaker, high at the passenger defrost vent. There is also a bubble in the vinyl next to the center speaker. The fit on the driver side around the bezel is not great and the drop on the side does not come down far enough along the bezel I'm more disappointed in the waviness of the top surface as that is what is right in front of you sitting in the truck that both the passenger and the driver can see. Hope this helps...

karl, those pieces are great looking!! I have a driveleiine question for you. I would like to know what yo udid in relation to the driveshaft? did you have to modify the stock shaft or did you use a new/different one? my O.G. shaft fits, but it seems to be about 1"-2" too long? it would bolt in, but I am afraid that it will hit while driving??

I had a new one made at a local driveshaft shop. I took them a transmission output yoke and they built me a new one from the dimensions that I provided.

karl, thank you, I guess that is what I am going to do. I was hoping that I could use my original, but it appears to be just a bit too long & I am not sure a newer one from a late model would be the correct length either...

Took Henry to Classic Truck Nationals this past weekend in Waxahachie, TX. While getting it ready for the event, did a much needed oil change and radiator flush/refill. When I started up the truck to move it onto the ramps for the oil change, I head the belt squeal like it was loose, seemed odd since it is a serpentine belt with a spring tensioner. It went away as it idled once it was on the ramps. Killed it and did the oil change. Once I was done with that, I started it up, and looked for leaks. Opened the hood and all looked good. Then I just happened to notice the tensioner. Belt is running true and not making noise at this time, but it does not look right. (first picture)

The other pics are the damage to the pulley, or what was left of it. Replaced the tensioner, but kept the belt as it had NO signs of excessive wear or damage to the ribs. :metal:

Also, while under the truck, just did an inspections for other leaks or issues since we are taking in a 2 hour road trip. Some minor oil leaks from the valve covers, but nothing serious. Dirty and needing a good cleaning. Did a quick bolt/nut check and all seemed good EXCEPT for one small crack in the block on the driver's side. Not a serious hole or even a leak, but none the less a crack in the water jacket of the block between cylinders 5 & 7.

Discussed options with Korbin, decided to do the flush and fill and give it a cleaning around the crack and see what happens. Did all that, does not seem to be really leaking, but has the evidence of a small leak. Decided to make the drive to CTN and had a great time. Drove back that late afternoon and no issues at all. Might have used about 1/2 gallon of water the whole trip and never overheated. Its been parked since then, so maybe this weekend I will see what can be done to seal up the crack as a temp fix till we decide what to do next.

Well, the block patch seems to be holding and it is not leaking any water out of that crack. Still plan on finding a good block at least to replace it.

OK, we took Henry to C10's in the Park and had an outstanding time. Met a few new folks and got to see some killer trucks, some that we have followed the build on this forum!

Sparc.Industries made a few updates on the Squarebody steering wheel, so we had the new version in the truck for the show. Korbin even made a sale for one to another attendee.

Took the truck to Thirty-Three Auto Clean in Longview prior to the show. Alex William worked his magic on the paint and got it looking better than ever. Still have a few details we want to fix, but wow, what a difference. :metal:

Here is the highlight of the weekend. While sitting in the shade behind Old Blue, the guy doing the picks for the Top 50 for the US Mags Party on the Square is taking pictures of a blue truck behind us. He asks if either of us are associated with the that truck. I said no, but that tan and red one over there is mine and on US Mags. He responded, "Yeah, I saw that one Friday night, here, take this." He hands me a lanyard for a Top 50 award. I get to take Henry to Party on the Square and be in the preferred parking spots. :metal:

Wow, what an honor and what a great time downtown on Saturday night! The last photo below was taken by Craig Israel. Did not even know he took it until late Sunday. Turns out his is local to me here in East Texas.

While Owen was home on leave we took the truck to a local show that was to benefit a young boy that has had some major medical expenses.

I was a small show, but was hosted by a local BBQ restaurant, so we had some good food and good times.

While there, we had a man and wife come up and he asked if we had anything to do with the truck. We said yes, and I introduced him and his wife to Owen. Turns out SHE is the daughter of the original owner! She new that her son had sold it to us, but I had never met her. We got to talk for a bit and learn some more history on the truck. Made for a really cool day.

That's pretty cool. Running into the original owners daughter was likely a highlight for all involved.
