Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

I’m still working on Walter but the little stuff just isn’t picture worthy. I’ve decided to replace the inner & outer rockers, lower kick panels and the door bottoms and blend the paint on the outer rockers. I’ll shave the unused holes in the firewall and paint the interior and firewall. And finally, going to replace the core support because Walter’s is rotted under the old battery location.

I am an RN, so my free time to tinker has been absolutely destroyed by this current mess going on. But to prove he’s still here and waiting patiently ...

I did throw in one of the billet marker lights just for some eye candy and to be able to say I did something.

Not much time to tinker, but I did fit one of the core support/grille filler panels just for motivation.

I like those filler panels & plan to use some as well.

Yeah, I’m glad to have ‘em. I’ll probably paint them black, silver/gray, or the 507 blue. Not sure which.

Matched to the core support & inner wheel tubs is what I'll do.... (Satin Black).

Who makes this smooth version? Do they require any trimming of the core support? I like the look

I’ll be honest, I don’t remember where I got them...as I’ve had them 3 or 4 years :/. But I did have to trim the core support ‘rib’ slightly to fit them.

I just got a set from a guy here in Nor Cal. $169 with free shipping. He also does the ones with holes and triangular cutouts.

Mine came raw steel and require a small amount of trimming on the core support.

I'm sure Walter will like some attention. He's probably probably been a little jealous.
