1951 cab clearance lights
I'm having a hArd time finding the correct clearance lights for my 1951 1 1/2 ton pickup truck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Arrow #39, with glass lens if you can find them. Just two, one on each front corner. Here are three for sale. http://www.taillightking.com/Truck%2...e%20Lights.htm. About 1/4 down the page.

So they only have two lights? All the pictures I've seen have three, but I have no idea if that is correct. I'm guessing you know a lot more than I do. So one on each corner and that's it?

Re: 1951 cab clearance lights
Naw, wouldn't say I know more. Good bet I know a lot less. Just been around. Have CRS too. Most generally the smaller trucks only had the two. Sometimes a third one in the middle. You can do three if you want, and not be wrong about it. Lighting regs were a lot different back then. If you ever get over to Woodland, Ca stop in at the truck museum. 'Hays', is the name IIRC.
BTW, lived in Sonoma and Santa Rosa for years |

Cool thanks, I'll have to check that out.

Re: 1951 cab clearance lights
Neither 51 1-1/2 ton cab that I have has ever had clearance lights on top. It could be an installed as required by individual states thing though.
The Arrow 39's that Spreader showed are proper for the period but I still don't much care for the idea of a bunch of holes drilled in the roof if they aren't required to be there by the state. |
