did the same on the drivers side, they just weren't cleaned up to my standards so I will deal with them when I mess with the suspension

slalomed around the shocks even though we will be replacing them, I just think it looks tacky when people paint carelessly

I did come back and paint these bumpy bump preventers

looks pretty good, I will take some pics once it dries, remember it is semi gloss, so it ought to flatten out
man this was a lot of work, painting the insides of the frame channel with the exhaust mounted up was difficult, I removed the tail light wiring harness on the drivers side, and loosened the rear hard brake lines on the passenger side and used a bunji cord to pull them away from the frame, but still doing the Michael Angelo whilst laying flat on my sore back to paint the bits underneath was horilble |

started to put the bed back on, it's amazing what the kids will do when you promise them Internet / WiFi hook up at the new house, LOL
|
Re: Restoring Rusty - Prepping for the newer bed
2 Attachment(s)
didn't want to scratch up the newly painted frame so at first my son and I thought we could wedge some 2x4s under the bed to protect it while we slide it on, that plan never materialized, so we went with plan B, we used the large rubber mats instead, worked great
|
Re: Restoring Rusty
The cool thing is that it gives you something to take away from them too..

Re: Restoring Rusty - Newly POR-15ed Bed Floor

the bed finally going back on, a bit of a bitter sweet as this is the last project in the old house, we really loved that house, it was on a court, it was quiet and all tucked in out of the way, neighbors were great, but don't cry for me Argentina we moved 1/2 a mile away, LOL

Re: Restoring Rusty

I could not have put this back together without my 13 year old son's help, he had a great can do attitude as did my 10 year old daughter
so next we propped up the bed floor with some 2x4s and bolted up the back piece that goes by the cab |
Re: Restoring Rusty
Family first. I really appreciate the fact that your kids are involved. I love it when my wife and daughter help me.
Btw, I picked up a gallon of POR15 today. |

If you don't your back will stay angry with you and later it'll get back at you. I'm paying for what I did 35 years ago. I didn't lay off cause it felt so much better after the chiro put it back in place... |

Re: Restoring Rusty
You need a chiropractor, man, not a doctor who gives shots.
Their next move will be to suggest surgery. Don't go there. |
Re: Restoring Rusty
^^^ Everyone I know that's had surgery has said don't do it. Find a good Chiropractor.

Re: Restoring Rusty
Some of the best Chiropractors I've seen only take cash. They're usually fairly inexpensive because they don't have the overhead to handle insurance.
