Anyone ever convert a ramp truck to an enclosed hauler?

Since purchasing an aluminum trailer I have not used my ramp truck as much. I love the truck and don't want to get rid of it so I was wondering about converting it to an enclosed hauler.

I don't have any real input on your question, don't see why it cant be done though. I did want to ask about your aluminum trailer. From the picture that is a really nice looking set up. I don't think Ive ever seen one like that rolling around out here. What does a trailer like that cost?

It was actually an equipment trailer that I had the ramps converted to mount on the side or fold up. It's made by a company called eBy. It has the 5k axles. It was expensive at around $7k but I live near the beach and really wanted an aluminum trailer. Since that pic I have added a solar battery box and a 9k which.

72gmguy,

I'm just the opposite. I want to use the Ramp truck I bought instead of the trailer. I hate having to hook it up and pulling it. The ramp doesn't get used much yet because I'm affaid to load it with anything heavy. The tires are dry rotted and scared to use it until I get new tires installed.
@ $1000.00 for a new set it maybe a while too!

for how tall the enclosed cabin would need to be, it would be a pretty big monstrosity on top of that ramp bed... I wouldn't do it, but I also LOVE the look of a classic ramp truck.
You also remove the cool ability to have a flatbed truck at your disposal for side-loading things like engines or transmissions at will...

This is mine.
I did put the golf cart on it last year and go to our local club meet with it.

Hey Andy, it is a pain to hook it up but driving any distance in the ramp is rough compared to riding in a newer truck with a nice ride and ice cold a/c.

I agree, it would be to tall if I wanted it to fit trucks but I was thinking of something low profile for cars. The reason I didn't buy an enclosed trailer is that it wouldn't fit any of my lifted trucks. I have been using my trailer as a flatbed to haul lumber and a new kitchen as well as my trucks.

Would you look at that.
A drop top convertible ramp truck.

This is the reason i like this place so much, just about learn sumtin new every day.

Only if it were a lil' bigger you could deck it out like the big rig mike knight used to drive kit into.

That's pretty cool sir! I could go for that. You would have a extra storage area for a vehicle too!:chevy:
