62 bagged Kneekocker project

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Jeff and I have enjoyed browsing the build section for a while. I'm a retired electrician and converted into a body shop man for pleasure and something different.

Recently I purchased a1962 c-10 cab sitting in the weeds of my brother in-laws for $100 and decided to make a bagged project out of it. My goal was to build a complete frame and suspension and have a working rolling chassis before I mount the cab.

Here are some pic's of the beginning and start of my project.

Ta2Don I browsed through your build thread, could you give me the rundown on what master cylinder/brake booster you used? Very clean installation.

For the guys looking for easy made ball joint plates Speedway Motors offer these for $4.99 each. The only down fall is they are only wide enough to incorporate a coil over shock. They just were notwide enough formy installation so I had to fabricate my own.

I incorporated my upper A-Arm mount also as my upper bag mount.

Here are my upper/lower ball joint plates after being cut out.

I'm using 1' x.156 wall tubing which already has an ID for direct tape to 3/4-16 rod ends.

Jigging and welding my lower A-arms

The dreaded job of tapping in rod ends.

Completed lower A-arm.

No progress to report, still waiting for the machine shop to finish drilling/tapping my cross shafts for my upper/lower A-arm mounts.

Once their completed I can finish the final fit and weldment of the front suspension and head toward the rear 4-link fab work,

Nice work! Are you planning on running big wheels? smaller wheels probably won't work with those lower arms.

Small wheels, for the time being. I've done the geometry /math and it doesn't seem to be an issue with 15/16 inch rims. I have clearance for 40 degrees of turn radius, Im not looking for the performance of a Lamborghini.

Lmao. You had me second guessing my measurements, I checked this morning and I have well over 40 degree turn radius and plenty of clearance with 15'rim. The only problem I have found is somewhere after 43 degrees the spindle steering arm gets into the bag. I'm pretty sure 40 degrees will be plenty and I will have to weld on a stop/block. Props for having a good eye, most would have not second guessed it.
