Vapor Canister Question
1 Attachment(s)
1994 C1500 5.7L AT. Noticed a rat chewed the purge fitting off the vapor canister. Anyone know if the top can be replaced on this, or any way to repair it?

Re: Vapor Canister Question
I’ve never seen just a top replacement. Maybe you can grind it so the fitting is straight up, versus 90 degrees, and then possibly clamp the hose to it.
Or pay like $80 for a new one. |

You could technically vent the tank to the air but you'll have a fuel smell and depending on where you live, won't pass emissions inspection. |
Re: Vapor Canister Question
In my 94 I by passed it all together. Just connected the two lines together and whent stait to the tbi. Never had a issue. Only reason I did this was to fit the under hood tool box the 95 ups got.

Re: Vapor Canister Question
canister ever need replaced though? does it improve performance?

Re: Vapor Canister Question
It stores fuel vapor to be burned later, so to really sell it you need to mention that it increases your fuel mileage a tiny bit.
