73-87 Truck of The Month-September
 
Winner! Winner! Winner! We have a winner. The cream of the crop for September from the 73-87 forum comes from the Netherlands. TwinTurbo and his awesome 83 stepper is our truck of the month..... :metal:

Here's the details:

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Year: 1983
How long have you owned this truck? 2 years
Any thing interesting about it's history? Not that I know of.

Chassis: 2wd short stepper
Suspension:
Front: drop spindles, drop springs & nitro drop shocks
Rear : flip kit & shackles, gabriel gas ryder shocks, no notch.
Completely rebuilt, all new poly bushings.

Brakes-
Front : Rebuilt stock disc, stainless lines
Rear : Rebuilt stock drums, stainless lines, lock resistant brake valve.

Tires-
Front : 235/50/R15
Rear : 295/50/R15

Wheels-
Front : Cheapo chrome 15" stuff..needs to go
Rear : same as above

Rear end- peg leg.
Gears: 3.08


Body-
Color Scheme: Dark blue mica effects
Trim: Silverado, custom roll pan, custom rear lights, custom red oak bed with stainless strips & fasteners, custom painted grille, painted front bumper & headlight bezels, stainless tailgate chains with protective plastic sleeving around it. Sintered bronze bushed tailgate hinges (no more squeeking)

Interior-
Color: Black, brushed aluminium, chrome..and skulls
Material : Leather, alcantara headliner & new stock trim.
Upholsterer : EBRU Vriezenveen (here in the Netherlands)
Custom 3pc. folding bench seat. Redone in leather with custom chevrolet logos embroided on the seats. 2pc epoxy painted center console (black, it was wood color)
Steering wheel: No idea, it's pretty small.
Instrument Gauges: stockers

Engine- Used to be 305 boat anchor.
Cubic Inch: 355
Manufacturer: GM did the hack job on it, I made it better. It's a 4 bolt 010 block, and now sports a forged crank, pink rods, SRP pistons, vette fuelie heads, edelbrock performer rpm package. 14" diameter, 6" tall K&N filter, full stainless fuel lines w/ aeroquip hose ends & fram HPG-1 fuel filter.

Valve Covers: GMPP Bowtie aluminium, coated on the inside with glyptal to eliminate oil seeping through (sweating), outside painted black w/ red bowtie & polished chevrolet script.
Exhaust type: Hookers, rechromed into 3" stainless steel duals w/ 4" tips. No crossover, dynomax 3" in/out 16" long race bullets. The exhaust exits under the steps.

Transmission
Automatic:used to be TH350, now a TH400.

Misc:
Removed AC, custom built heater box.

Congrats TT, nice truck. It is ok to lose to one so nice. The Dutch and the Canadians have to stick together eh?
How tough is it for you to find parts over there or do you have them shipped?
I also was pleased to see the comment about sintered bronze bushing in the tailgate. That may solve my squeaks too.

I buy everything in the US and have it shipped. parts here are so rediculously expensive (like 60$ for a rear brake cylinder) that it's actually cheaper for me to send them to a buddy, wait untill I have a nice collection there and then ship it in one batch. The bronze bushings work really well, the squeeking was completely eliminated, my chains are plastic linered and they won't rattle or squeek either.
