Got the Cab over to the guy for some rust therapy...sorry for the quality of pics..no fancy camera for this guy...I spend all my extra dough on truck parts.

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop

Picked up a new bed from a guy here local and got it trimmed to fit and put on.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19450
Then started stripping the paint off of it
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19452

Decided it was easier to disassemble the bed and work on the parts separately. Got the Driver's side bedside down to bare metal and epoxy primed.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19457
Decided to just go with a repop tailgate from LMC I was actually surprised at how well it fit and the thickness of the metal. Very happy with it.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19471
Sent the bed off with a fellow club member to get some sheet metal work done on the inside of the bed. Also sold all of the old body panels and the small window cab to a friend of mine. We started tearing the truck down and of course it had to rain on us.

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop

Well we got the cab off and took a few measurements to check the previous owners workmanship on the "Z"....needless to say nothing is square and one side of the frame is higher than the other. So we decided to find a new factory frame and splice on the nice back half that Popeye built and just go with a dropmember up front.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19475
Had to sell my vacation to purchase the Porterbuilt, but a friend of mine in Alabama had purchased a complete front kit, and had no plans of starting his build anytime soon. So I picked this stuff up a few hundred bucks cheaper than it sells for and didn't have to pay shipping...so I lucked out!!
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19468
Nice untouched frame
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19473
Mine getting ready for surgery
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19461
Most of this will go in the scrap iron pile
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19476
Of course we'll be keeping Popeye's work

Getting ready to join together old and new
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19466
Drilled holes to plug weld and plated the backside for added strength
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19464
Got it all back together and slicked out with some chassis saver paint(same crap as POR-15 without the shine) I dig the satin look

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19470
Got rid of that ugly home made boat tank, replaced it with a rear mount tank kit from LMC Truck
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/p...ictureid=19467
Complete Chassis with the motor back on laid out....much better than that old junk

Took a little "me time" last night and finally got my truck club tat. A lot of though went into it, just now getting around to getting it done. For those of you who do not know I am a Staff Sergeant (12C) in the Army and Have done my time in the sandbox. So that is the thought behind the Cpt. America shield in the shadows. Also, our club has been around for 22 years and I have been a member since 2008. So this is a proud moment and I thought who better to share it with than a bunch of truck dudes. Hope yall dig it!!!

I am in Severed Ties, Louisiana Chapter. Didn't make it out to Gator Drag, we already had a Crawfish Boil Planned for the club, so I did that bit.

I am in the Louisiana Army National Guard, however due to the limited amount of people with my skill set in the LAARNG I pretty much stay on active duty year round. (I have a lot of experience with admin and I'm a Commo and Electronics Warfare guy as well 25U/29E)...my civilian employer just loves me...lol.

That is awesome!
I was a 16R (Vulcan Crewman - Gunner) in the 80s then I got out for a bit, then came back into my old MOS of 68D (Operating Room Technician) and am in the throes of retirement now.
My last day of 23 years in Military Service will come to an end on August 31st this year.

Guess it is my turn to pass the torch eh? :flag:
