1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
4 Attachment(s)
I found this girl on the net about 3.5 hours away back in 2013 and pulled her home to rebuild for my son and I to take camping trips around the area. I had to use my dads S10 to go get her, Clyde wasn't in a mood to drive that far at the time.
I thought she was in pretty good shape but knew she had some water damage and proceeded to take her apart. Here is my progress.. first pix are when I pulled her home and then when I stuck her in the garage for tear down. |

quick look at what I had. She didnt have much damage and all of it was dry from sitting in an warehouse for 10 plus years...

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
I removed all the windows and the molding at the top of the trailer that runs front to back so I can reseal everything with the special tape stuff and I have most of the windows back in. I had to remove the dinette ( one side) to replace the wall nearest the door, was real bad since the door was whopper-jawed. Siding is all back on, I used some spare Tyvek under the skin to hopefully prevent this again, also I used fiberglass resin on the bottom 6" of the boards for the same reason, those should never suck water again.
More pix to come when I get back out there to work on her. |

Coming from a rainy state i can very much appreciate what your doing here! Nice trailer too. I have owned a couple of rain damaged campers myself.

I felt like I bit off too much but since I have just taken a small bite at a time, it doesn't seem to be too awful bad...only thing is I got laid off last September and haven't found the right job so $ is slim....I am working at Lowes right now and it is paying most of the bills but no extra at all. I would even entertain selling her if someone wanted to finish....until that time, ill keep plugging away...only a few more pieces of wood to replace and then the skin goes back on...then the windows... |

Cool project and nice work! I like the old trailers.

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Thanks Joe!
I bought this to gut and rebuild. I have found this was A LOT bigger than I thought, I didnt really have the skills to take it on and it was going to take far longer than I anticipated(2years so far). I hired a company to start and they tried to screw me but I was smarter than they thought. |

Update: I haven’t touched my trailer for over a year, I never have time to do any work on her because I am working on my truck as well as working on my Kubota tractor and also full time day job!
So...I sent her to someone who has time and talent. |

I have tons of pictures, what are you looking for? I have more to do, this is not a show winning trailer, I wanted it clean, warm, dry and safe. I am working on rebuilding the rear hatch door, some interior moldings and the upholstery also. |
Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Warrens69GMC, nice trailer!

Some interior pix.

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
The interior looks in good shape. I have a 1967 Shasta that the farmer who now owns the field around my home gave me that was 1/2 a mile behind the house back in the woods. I believe the original owners of my house put it back there to use as a hunting shack. It took a lot to get it up out of the dirt it had sank into and get new wheels on it. I now have it up to my place but it was trashed by woodland creatures and needs a total renovation head to toe. Wish it was in as good of shape as yours. I hope to restore it to pull behind my 64, but first I have to get the 64 done. If only I had more time and money. Hope you have fun with it.

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
I’ve had mine for 3+ years, found it cheap enough and did tons of rot repair. I found myself at a point where I just do not have time to put it back together so I paid someone to do that...overpaid them actually but...I can now camp in it. I took the cushions to the upholsterer and ask them to have them done by Christmas. I want to go camping after Jan 1st, weather permitting.
|
Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
It will be cool to be able to camp in it. Weather here is Michigan is only weather permitting half of the year. Today it is in the low 30s with rain snow mix. The older I get the more I hate the cold. When I retire I am going to spend the winter in warmer weather. Enjoy the camper it is cool.

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Thanks bud!
Last year on christmas it was in the 70’s but two days later it was 20’s and blowing hard! Very unpredictable weather. I used to live in Ohio, so I know how the weather is there. That’s one reason I’m in Texas! However, the summers can be brutal, 105+ is stupid! |

Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Thank russell ashley, my fresh water tank is in front curb side.
I pulled her from San Angelo to Fort Worth with a full tank and no trailer brakes( they are toast) 220 miles and she pulled real well! I also pulled her w/o fresh eater from east Texas to Fort Worth and she did well. I am needing to replace the brakes and upholstery, hopefully in next couple months. |

Finally got some shop time,
Pulled the brake assemblies off the axle.... |
Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Now I am thinking I’m just going to replace the entire assembly and use the original up, clean up the hub and brake surface, then we should be good.
I am fairly sure these will work. https://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Tra...Inch_Drum.aspx |

Update:
Brakes are bought and installed. Hubs are soaking to get the grease off for high heat paint. New material for the cushions and curtains! |
Re: 1969 Aristocrat Lo Liner
Those brakes came out very tidy. Nice work.
