Right, Chuck! I think I will have time to finish it this weekend. I need to figure out how to mount the engine, though, so it will be in the proper position for firewall clearance.

Let me see what I can come up with. Are you going to keep the water pump? Is it long or short?

Matt heres the V8 perches. I cleaned them, repaired the one with the wollered hole and painted them and the tranny kick down bracket. Its satin black rustoleum so its easy to change if you want. I'll get these to ya after turkey day.

When I get my hood cleaned off I'll get a pic of where they mount on the frame.

So, as I was getting ready to sit down to Thanksgiving, I got a call........ it's ready! Now I just have to find a time to go get it. I think Sat. afternoon will be when, which will give me time to button up some things to get ready.

Chuck, you were correct, there are more holes forward of my existing perches. Looks like a bolt on deal!

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

Well, so far today has been a shopping day. I DID get a new big electric drill. It also is a hammer drill, comes with the side handle and a 3 year warranty. 40 bucks at TSC. I may get something done today, but I know tomorrow will be a full day of work, and picking up the motor in the afternoon. I will start early, and should be able to have the front end together and maybe the motor pulled by the time i go get the new one.

Thanks, Rus! I gotta drive the bus in the am, and we usually go Sun night, but I think, if we need to, that the Lord won't mind us working a bit;). I will see how much I get done tomorrow.

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

great build to follow-thanks
i find it really interesting hearing other peoples thought patterns on what to do with there projects- means i'm not the only one going backwards and forwards on which direction to go.
i had the luxury of a good running 305 to slot in mine and keep driving while i did up the i6 -292.
so far i have a fully rebuilt shortblock with 307 pistons and picked up a turbo at a swapmeet a few weeks ago and i still have the head to do so i won't rush into the swap back to 6 until i have a fully finished runnnig motor on an engine testbed.
look forward to more updates.
