Texas Toast is Well Done!

First, thanks to all the support from the family here.
When I drove the ‘66 into my shop it started as a “just going to do a few things” mod and the next thing I know it’s a bare frame on jack stands.
Been there?
So glad I did.

All new suspension, disc brakes all around, stroked 6.2 LS3 418, 4L80 stage 2 w/3K stall, Lokar shifter, all new glass, new seals, Dakota Digital HDX, Leather seat custom stitching, Vintage Air, etc, etc, etc and rear window gun rack!

Took my son on the inaugural run and wish I had a video of the smiles on our faces going down the road!

Again, thanks for everyone’s help, insight and experiences on the LS swap and mods.

Wish I knew how to upload a video.

Here’s a few pics of Texas Toast.

Very nice looking ride! I'm sure that stroked LS3 makes it a blast to drive. How did you route your AC lines to your bulkhead fitting? I see that it's not in the typical firewall location.

I ran them along the passenger side inner fender. They ran perfectly in the existing groove and used the factory holes to hold them in place. See pic 5 going to the firewall.

Oops, I see now. I didn't notice it in your first few pictures.

Beautiful work.

I like green cars and trucks.

Interior is certainly a showstopper.

Very nice truck. It looks to be about the same color as my 66 longbed I just had painted. Is it seamist jade metalic? Check out my build page.

Thanks!
Looks like we went down the same or at least a similar path on our build.
Yours turned out really nice. Congrats!

I wanted to stay with a classic look so the color I chose is from the 1960 corvette. Cascade Green and Ermine White.

I stayed with a classic color also. Seamist Jade metallic was a 62-63 only color on our trucks. I think the color was used on passenger cars under different names. So, who knows?

Yessir. I’m on that think the classic colors look good on these trucks. That said, orange and white was in the number 1 pick spot for a bit.
