Inside door handle loose only when door is close?
1965 C10.
I might have pulled on the driver side interior door handle a bit too hard. Here is the strange behavior:
However, if I push the door handle "back in towards the door" and "wiggle it a bit", it becomes engaged again and will open the door. Close the door and it starts all over again. How do I fix this dangling issue ? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. |

The door latch control has 3 1/4-20 bolts in it so I don't think you snapped those off. You probably have something internally in the door Lock control that has snapped and when you push on it, you are pushing the control up against the door reengaging it. You can probably verify by taking the handles and cover off and make sure the control itself is not spinning.

WhippinSaw,
Thanks for the reply. As I'm a newbie in learning, which part is the door lock control, in your picture? |

Try pulling the panel off the door (back off the set screw in the handle) and take a look at what exactly is happening in there. Chances are you'll be able to see what part is worn out or bent just by working the door handle action back and forth with the panel removed.

Push the handle on so it works well and then tighten the set screw on the handle.
