Interior Restoration
 

Hey Guys/Gals,

I was wondering if any of you have used door panels, seat belts, seat covers, dash pads, etc from any of the main companies like Classic Industries, LMC Truck, and Brother's. I'm just curious to how they fit and if they are quality replacements. Let me know what you guys think and post up some pictures if you'd like. Thanks! - Ryan :new:

Im interested in the feedback you get on this as I have a 74 that needs some attention too. I put new seat belts in my 72 from Morris Classic and really like them ,not cheap but very good quality .

I used seat upholstery from LMC and it was fairly easy to put on. The carpet came from Stock Interiors, and I am very happy with it. The dash pad I got on Ebay, it's a Dashdirect, not real happy with it , but after messing with it a bunch I think it looks OK. I put my old door panels on today, after searching for a good used set. I will have to buy a set of aftermarket ones soon...

Thanks for the input guys. I'll have to check into those companies you were talking about. I heard a couple people say that Classic Industries is the best as far as fitment goes for interior panels, and that LMC sucks but, I didn't know if it was perhaps just a bad part or defective? Everything i have gotten from LMC has been pretty good quality. But ya I agree I hope we get some more examples and reviews! Thanks again!

Only thing my interior needed was matching OEM-style floor mats. I got these from Classic Parts. Not cheap, but heavy-duty rubber, color-matching, bow-tie floor mats. They are one size fits all, so you have to take some exact measurements of what you want, and then go to work with a razor knife and straightedge, with a little tin snips cutting for the round corners. Makes a big difference in pulling the interior together.

The color on the driver side here looks a little pinker than in person. Cameras have trouble with rendering red. The passenger side one is closer to actual.

That's a great looking interior! I really like those seats. I did find this webpage for a updated dash. I'm sure most have seen this before but, I thought I'd share it anyway. I think these are a pretty good deal if you want after market gauges in a stock looking dash. Check it out!

Thanks. I like them too. In leather, with lumbar support and seat heaters, they get a little pricey, but they went in easy and the quality is outstanding. No extra charge for the contrasting inserts. All red or all black would have been too much. These are the ones I got.

I like that they have headrests, which means the wife and I won't have whiplash or punch out the rear glass with our heads if we get rear-ended.

Here's another view from when I put them in. The driver insert looks orange here, but it's not -- the flash bleached the red out.

I think the dash caps look good enough for dressing up a worn interior.

I had one but didn't end up using it. I ordered a GM one. It fit great and its the only way I didn't have to dye one (it came light gray).

Everything else was taken apart and cleaned. It you have parts that are just dirty I would try cleaning them first.

The OER dashes are very respectable if you spend some time to make them fit. For less than $200 I feel like they are a good investment. For the interior trim I try to find decent junkyard pieces from Suburbans, then just clean and paint them.

That's some great info guys! Thank you so much! I've been really kinda worried because i don't really have money to waste on pieces that aren't as great as they seem in the magazine. I recently went to the junkyard this weekend and grabbed some wiring for the dual fuel tanks. When I got back my emblems I won on Ebay made it and i got those painted but, I still need to shine them. The truck is headed to paint in a couple weeks so I'm trying to get everything together. Thanks for all your wonderful posts!

Not many yards around but there is one close to you near the Big Chicken on 41 ,go past the Chicken toward Roswell and turn right past the Sears shopping center and they are on the left .I have not been there in a while but they had some parts . There are a couple in Cartersville but I cant remember the names at the moment .

Big chicken is on Roswell and 41? Are you talking headed north or south? Only place I can think of in that are is Marietta salvage.. havent looked there though

Marietta Salvage sounds right ,one of the others in Cartersville is Cagles ,very near the airport ,they had several trucks and a full size blazer with nice buckets a while back.
