1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

Working on a Black 69 C20, CST, 396, column auto, pwr steering, pwr brakes, AC, Tach, AM/FM. center console/bucket seats, original rear spiral shocks, original T3 headlight bulbs etc. This truck is in outstanding original condition with exception of wheels/tires. I have been looking for factory info on this CST package as to which wheel/tire/dog dish package would be correct. It currently has 33's and what appears to be some sort of Turbine aluminum wheel. The tires are rubbing making the truck unenjoyable to drive. I also am looking for the jack and tools including the bag since this truck for some reason is missing. Any C20 CST owners out there? Thanks! Dave in Virginia

Unless it is a Custom Camper, it probably came with 15" wheels, and something like a G78 or H78/15 tire. Do you have the SPID on the inside of the glove box door? It may tell you what the original equipment tires and wheels were. In my experience, tires like that were in 4wd trucks back then, but some differences can obviously exist.

I do not have a build sheet and out of all the codes listed on the glovebox door there is no mention on the wheel/dog dish/tires. However I have a document with all those codes listed and on IT it shows Tires 800x16.5x8

Make your pics smaller.

File size issue for sure. Should be a way to downsize when you upload each one, my phone gives me a dropdown.

if they are any smaller your not going to see them. I was afraid of this. I am on 4 other boards, Mopar boards mainly and one of them is like this site for posting pics. too slow and too much trouble

I should be able to post pics bigger than that one!

You can post 5 relatively large pictures per post. Select "post reply" click the paper clip, choose 5 files, then select upload (all 5 will upload), then close the attachment dialog box, then click submit reply. There's nothing wrong with the website.

I applied to this forum over a week ago and just now tonight was allowed to post. I am not a Chevy truck nut. I wanted you guys to take this truck in and learn from it like I have done with Mopar muscle cars and now classic Mopar cars for over 45 years.

You can post five pictures in a thread, but you have to upload one at a time first.

Is there any mention of tire size at all on the SPID? The hubcaps would be chrome. There were only dog dich caps for 8-luggers, chrome or painted, and the CST came with chrome. What does it have for a spare. Often times the spare is an original, or at least mounted on the original wheel. The truck could have 16" or 16.5". That sure is a great truck you have there!

I have been clicking on the photo manager...I didn't see the paper clip. let me look again. bear with me. It's well worth it!

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

Standard 69 C20 wheel size is 16.5 x 6 with 8.75-16.5 tires. Optional widths were 6.75 abd 8.25. 16" wheel also available with 7.50 or 6.50-16 tire.
Tim I'm not following the load the one at a time note - I've never clicked upload more than the one final time, regardless of number of pictures (up to 5). Can you elaborate? I may not be familiar with that, curious.

Let me be up front with you guys now, I do not own this truck. It was bought to me for AC repair by an owner who was partners with Ron Divine of BK Racing. Google or Youtube it. Partnership dissolved, Ron owed him $$$ and gave him this truck instead.

This is more than likely one of the lowest mile C20's out there? I have original owner info. He was from Il. There is a mailer from Chevy about a recall notice or campaign as they called it back then. Something about the fast idle cam?

I thought I had a good close up of the glove box lid with codes but I see I do not. Don't worry I will get them. Truck is at the new owners home. Oh, Sorry I left out a tidbit. The truck was for sale when it came to me. My dentist came in the shop for a state inspection on his Porsche. saw the truck, walked over to it and instantly fell in love. We have all been there the only diff is he could make it happen then & there. The next day he bought it. Now I have the task of dialing her in in all areas.
