2005 silverado o2 sensor damage

just got a po141 code on my 05 silverado with a 5.3 i took out the bank one sensor 2 and it had the end knocked off of it any one have a ideal how it got knocked off like this?

The cat got excessively hot?
What does the substrate in the cat look like? Might be worth looking in through the O2 sensor bung with a borescope. Darn handy to see the Denso trademark with the GM 12587785 part number. Now we know who made them. |
