What are these chrome things for on my C30 dually?
3 Attachment(s)
I just got this great C30 dually and it has these very shiny chrome pieces on the front fenders near the vent wing windows.
Does anybody know what these are and what they are for? It is a Camper Special, so maybe they are for tie downs for the overhead camper it probably once had... ...I don't know... ...does anyone know or have a picture of these things in use? thanks all is well evan |

Ah, thank you.
Looks like those tie downs are something special, not just rope or cables... ...I guess if I ever get a camper I'll look into finding those. :) |

never had or used the chevy camper equipment. i just don't understand why they would secure your camper to body sheet metal...a little bit of camper flexing and i can totally see the box sheetmetal oil canning, or like ya say, cracks. i remember my dad used stake pocket mounts on his '72 gmc with a 8 1/2 foot camper and it distorted around the pockets-not a lot, but they weren't the straightest when he sold his camper...maybe chevy went this way cause squares are not the easiest to put belly bars on to. my '77 3/4 ton had the camper special badges behind the doors on the pillar |
