Help

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I need help with my 4wd 71 chevy custom 10 short bed.
I have completely disassembled it to weld the frame and replace parts.
I am now looking for parts to finish it. I figured I could at least throw this out there for starters and then get more detailed with everything else.
I am currently living in NH and have the truck in a small car tent.
I have the cab, the hood, and the passenger door. I need the rest of the body. Looking for a fleet side bed. Already have a step side and do not want it.
Any parts or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Help

Hello and welcome to the board.
My advice to you is to decide which front end you want, if you want to keep it 1971 then if I were you I would buy reproduction fenders for $130 apeice because although GM fenders are considered desirable unless your truck has the numbers matching drivetrain then whats the point.

Buy a used core support in good condition that can be easily repaired.
Buy a reproduction grill shell because it is nearly impossible to find an original in good enough condition to use, the chrome steel version runs $449, plus grill $100, plus brackets $90, you get the idea yeah the 71 is expensive to restore.

Keep in mind it is cheaper to go with a 67-68 front end because good used OEM grills arent that hard to come by for around $100, the only expensive part of this grill to replace is the aluminum trim which runs about $200 unless you get lucky enough to find a grill with all steel moldings and headlight bezels without damage, if you do expect to pay around $150-175.

You can just sell your 71 hood and buy a 67-68 hood.

As for the drivers side door if you take the time to look you can find one in repairable condition.
