Well I got the passenger side working but it's not perfect. I had to grind on the top of the window some to get it close to flush with the door. It goes up and down correctly but needs some tweaking. It sounds like it's in a bind.

Now onto the drivers side. This is what I had to start with. This side has to be totally reengineered. The motor pointing the opposite direction will allow me to get the window to seat correctly in the top of the window channel.

I trimmed the regulator as needed then started measuring for placement. There is quite a bit of difference from the old one to the new. After an hour of contemplating the different options I just bolted it to the door and started moving it around. After two or three hours of fighting it I had to walk away from it. If I was younger I may have been throwing tools. The angles will drive you crazy. I'll work on it some more today. What I thought was going to be a weekend project will probably take me the rest of the week before I'm happy with it. But if it last another 15 years I'll be 71 by then Lol.

They have some nice kits. These universal regulators and a couple of new switches were a little over $200.00 from Summit with my Pro Shop discount.

I'm sure those old regulators are worn out and impossible to replace. I ended up with spare time early this morning and this afternoon and got mine lined out. It was driving me crazy thinking about it. I have a few projects in order for Blue and the Dodge before the next race. It was a relief to get that out of the way.

Actually I have a set of the IH regs that look new...hard to believe for them to be over 65yrs old

Well it's official I can't drive for Sh*t. I made it through first round in Topeka only to Redlight by .004 in the second round. Then for some stupid reason I just flinched bad in the first round of the second race. It was so bad I didn't even stop to get the timeslip. I gained 10 points in the end.

I haven't logged in for awhile. No updates really. I have made the decision to hang it up for the year. I haven't even unloaded the truck since Topeka. I had Slick Rick order me some new valves. I'm hoping they wont take too long to get here as mine are worn out. We are going to a DLC coated titanium valve. He says they will last a long time. I always thought the seats went away on the valve job. I had it backwards. Rick told me the berylium copper seats eat away the margin of the valve. With a coated valve it will keep the valve job in check for seasons instead of 60 or 70 passes. I was going to enter Super Comp at the Fall Nationals just for fun but I waited too long and it filled up. Maybe it wasn't a good idea anyway.Lol

Well.... That sucks that you'll miss-out but taking some time off to re-group & do some part swapping while not under the pressure of time constraints should be a nice change.

Having to get things done under pressure can wear on ya' so maybe this is a really good thing. Still opportunity to go to the tracks/s & shake some hands & enjoy a beverage or 2 w/friends if you feel up to it or do whatever floats the boat until you're ready to get after it again fully recharged.

It's not that big of a deal Scoti. I only had one race left I could run for points and that was going to be St Louis again. It's not worth it to me if I don't have a chance of winning Division. I showed up in Topeka sitting in 5th with a good chance but messed it up and came home in 6th. One of our guys won the Divisional in Bowling Green last weekend and bumped me to 7th. I'll be lucky to finish in the top ten. For the money I would spend going to St Louis I would rather invest it in new valves.

I don't really have anything to report. I've done nothing with the truck since the Topeka race. I may go do some testing again at XTreme Raceway again in the next two weeks. I don't even know if I will have new valves before next season. Kinda sux but it is what it is.

Hi Regan, It's DB, if your wanting to make some test runs you can run with us at I30 Dragway on 10/23 or at our last race of the season at XRP on 10/30. I ran a double header today, 2 races back to back. Lost first round in the first race but won the finals in Outlaw class in my S-10 in the second race. It was a long day but worth it. You will get a minimum 3 runs, that's two test runs and 1 elimination run. If not then post when you will be at XRP and I will try to make it out there.

It looks like I may have to wait until the 28th for XTreme. They have big events scheduled and I'm sure not showing up during a bike race. I'll go on a Friday so I can run as many test hits as I want during their Gamblers Race. Congrats on the win DB! I was looking at going to I-30 but I can't find the schedule. Also it's a little hard for me to stop at that track due to the short shutdown.

I may check with my friend Tony and see if I could test during the Texas Muscle Car Club race Sunday the 30th. It may be kinda cool by then so I would rather have a warmer track.

I understand, but if you can make it to XRP on the 30th that would be cool. I think the gates open at XRP at 9am and racing starts around 11am. I would like to meet you and see your truck in action. If you do its your call if you want to run that morning with us. With my win yesterday I will also be running in the Big Dog race after the normal TMCCC race. I will be running against other Outlaw season winners.

Well I finally unloaded the truck yesterday. The slicks were pretty low on air and stuck to the floor. I couldn't start it without priming the dry sump. It took a few minutes with me pushing on the wall with one arm from the drivers seat.

Well after talking with DB I'm taking him up on his invitation. We are going to Xtreme Sunday morning to race with his club. I haven't bracket raced in years so it should be fun. I'll just be happy if the truck works right. I'm hoping I have figured out my 60 ft issues I had this season. If so I'll feel better going into next season.

Regan it was good meeting you and your truck is awesome. I hope you had fun and got to make a few extra passes than you probably thought. Not sure but I think you were in the finals; I know you ran the semifinals. I will get your award when I go to the banquet and send it to you. Thanks for the tip about the finish line, I know it helped me at least win one round. Will keep in touch and hopefully meet up at the track again.

That was a season ending race for anyone in the TMCCC series he was racing with that had won at least one race. All the previous race winners in their respective classes had a runoff to be a Big Dog. When I left I just told him not to be a Pup Good job Bud.

Nothing really exciting to speak of. Blue got a new Tie for Christmas. It sucks that my old NOS Chevy Bowtie got broken. This aftermarket one didn't even fit flush on the edges. I was so aggravated about the situation I bent into submission over the handle of my 4" grinder. It was either going to fit or it was going to break. I'm not going to pull my motor until after our May race at the Tx Motorplex. Then it will be time for new valves and valve springs. I may also try another cam in the motor. If I do I need to figure that one out pretty quick or I wont get one in time. Meanwhile I've been working on the race trailer some. I'm going to get the bent dovetail fixed along with other things that need to be addressed. Our first race is in 8 weeks in Belle Rose La. I'm itching to go already. Happy New Year everyone.
