A "little" boat race
I race 1/6 scale Radio controlled hydroplanes as my other addiction. Went to a race a couple weeks ago and did pretty well with my new boat. It's modeled after the 1959 Maverick. I cleaned house and won all 4 heats that day. (8 out of 10 over 2 days) This was the final on Saturday. These are about 55 inches long with modified 29cc 2 stroke motors running around 65 mph. I got out to a good lead, (like I did every other heat) then my spark plug coil came loose after lap 3 and I started loosing power. 2nd place started catching me pretty quickly and made for an exciting finish.

Ken did not know you were on here. I see you on the Dock all the time. Your boat looked great. Was it done off newton plans? I really like the way it looks on the water.

Ken I like your ideas on the hull mods and they seem to have added up to a rocket. My daily driver is a 66 chevy. You need to post some of your other creations on here like your trophy's for the guys to see. Your craftsmanship is really nice.

Here are a couple pictures. I'll see if I can find pictures of the latest trophies that I'm supplying for Nationals in October.
