Who makes a good quality OEM performance clutch kit?

When my truck came apart it had an 11" clutch. The disk actually looked fine, but the pressure plate had a few bent diaphragm fingers, so at least the pressure plate needs to be replaced.

I'd like to get a good stock clutch. Not anything fancy for racing, but I'd like to find something of equivalent quality that GM might have installed in a stock '70 Corvette or Z-28 Camaro with an LT-1.

I went to RockAuto to look for clutch kits and I saw them anywhere from $35 to $170. For brands like "Brute Power," "M-Pact," and "AMS Automotive." I have never heard of these brands. I usually prefer AC Delco to "keep my GM car all GM," but Rock didn't list them.

Does anyone have recommendations for 11" clutch/pressure plate kits?

I would go with the zoom clutch kits from summit racing.

It's been a long time since I have bought a clutch but Luk clutches used to be one of the best.

Speedway motors has some good prices on clutches. I was shopping for my Camaro and didn't pull the trigger yet but leaning toward saving money at Speedway.

I used one of Zoom's 3000-series kits several years ago behind a mild performance 327. Had no problems at all with it handling aggressive starts and shifts. But I have to say the same is true for a $100 Pioneer kit I used behind a mild 350.

Unless you do a lot of speed shifting and clutch slipping, I'd get a stock replacement kit, or maybe one step up. I say that because I once used a street/strip kit from RAM, but it took a lot of force to push in the pedal, and it was a little too "grabby" on release.

I like the Centerforce II's. Have one in my '68 C/10 L6 292 and had one in my '71 GMC Jimmy w/V8 350.

I am going to need one in my 68 6 Cyl. I want a easy to push but reliable. The one in there now pressure plate going bad. Not sure what brand it is. Which AC Delco one would be best?
Sorry if I hijacked.

I use a Center Force II on my L6 292/SM465 in a '68 C/10 Stepside, not too stiff.
They are American-made.

Frankly, just about any OEM replacement kit, Pioneer, Luk, etc, will work well behind a 6 cylinder or stock V-8. AC Delco parts are imported like most others, but usually cost a little more. Just make sure you know what size you need -- 10.5" for 153 tooth flywheel or 11" for 168 tooth flywheel. There's a good chance you'll need to have the flywheel re-surfaced on a dedicated flywheel grinding machine, NOT turned on a lathe. That along with a new pressure plate and disc will work smooth as silk.
