Posting a question on a long dead thread
This is a request that folks refrain from posting a new question on long dead threads that you dug up when searching for an answer. If you still need an answer PLEASE START A NEW THREAD with your question rather than sticking it on a thread that has been dead for some period of time with the last post before yours being three, five or ten years old.
The main reason is that too many people do not scroll though the whole thread and read every post before they answer the first question and while you are seeking an answer to your question the next post below yours will be someone's answer to the first post on the thread. I just answered someone's question tagged on to a thread with the last post ahead of his being in 2018 and you can bet that the next post below mine will be in answer to the first post on the thread and his question won't be seen. |
Re: Posting a question on a long dead thread
Which one is it? I might be able to start a new thread for the OP.

Re: Posting a question on a long dead thread
I'll send you a pm when I remember it.
It was just a reminder that if you have a question you are better off to start a new thread with the question so you actually get your question answered. It's great that folks do search for an answer though. I see it in an other group all the time. there will be a thread that has been sitting dead for several years and someone digs it up to either add their self styled expertise or ask a question . In one case the Original poster of the thread had passed away a few years before as had at least two of the people who had previously answered it that this person was responding to. |
