6lug swap

Everything was going fine until I got to the calipers. Need help.

Ok 6 lug disk brake upgrade 1.25inch rotor 71 spindles. My calipers seem to big they fit over the rotor but it does not bolt up to the spindle.Should I have ordered 71 calipers? I have read on the forum when you have the 1.25 inch rotors this changes the size of your calipers am I right or wrong. I called auto parts store and they only have only 1 size caliper for that year. Does the 71 factory caliper fit both 1 inch and 1.25 rotor. Is there a bracket that I'm missing or something? I'm stuck Does anyone have a part # for the correct caliper 1.25 rotor 6 lug from the local stores.I

Re: 6lug swap

Factory 71/72 are 1.25" calipers.

Thanks for the quick response. So no matter if I had 5 or 6 lug rotors the 71\72 calipers will work correct?

Yes if you got the correct 6 lug rotors, which are 5 lug rotors that have been manufactured with 6 lugs at the factory, in other words they're the same rotor but for the lug bolts. If you're trying to use some later model truck 6 lug rotor those won't work.

Ok so I'm still not ok from what you just explained I have later model rotors. So what calipers do I need? Am I screwed.

Re: 6lug swap

You need to buy the 5 lug rotors that have been made in 6 lug. No other rotor fits. It's not the calipers.

Search "1.25 6 lug rotors" on Ebay
