Steering wheel epoxy

Hi guys and gals,

A quick question for you:

I am starting a paint job on my '67 c10 stepside (might post project in the forum soon) and I bought this steering wheel epoxy from classicparts.com (link) to cover the cracks in my steering wheel before I paint it. However, it is very vague on the instructions and I don't know how to apply it. is says to remove the film cover, mix, and "apply".

All I could find online for repair tips was using epoxy putty, but I think this is just a glue filler of some sort and you just put it in the cracks. Am I right?
Thanks for your help!

I would just read the mixing instructions and apply as needed.

In the past when I was fixing up steering wheels to be painted again, I would just use JB weld which worked great and sanded well when dried.

I have even heard folks using auto body filler also. Anything that doesn't shrink or crack too bad.

I agree. The one I seen was on a 63 Nova, If he hadn't mentioned it you wouldn't have known. It just looked too perfect and slightly shiny.
