Big Progress This Weekend...

Finally got the steelies, tires & hubcaps mounted this weekend. I've been scraping these parts together for the last 6 months. Got the rims back from the powder coater on Friday and tires mounted yesterday. Tires are 33 x 12.50. Rims are 15 x 8. I'm really happy about the way it came out.

Now I'm trying to make up my mind whether to lift two or four inches. Never done a lift before so opinions and advice are welcome.:gmc2:

Very impressed with the wheels! Are you thinking of a body or suspension lift?

Thanks. What's the difference between the 2?

body lift just lifts the body higher off the frame suspension gets the frame higher off the ground

body is cheaper

suspension is 'real lift' lol and alot more $

Body lift would bring the cab and bed off the frame I'm not really a big fan but a suspension lift would lift the whole truck off it's axles.

Yeah with a body lift you'd wind up having a gap between the bumpers and the rest of the body and it just kills the looks IMO

Sounds like suspension is the way to go - if it doesn't break the bank!

That is an absolutely beautiful truck! The only lift I would do to that would be About two inches, I think it would look perfect with those tires and rims. I have a four inch lift on mine, it's just a little to high in my opinion, it came that way so I can't complain.
Two inches on yours would still keep it stock looking but give plenty of tire clearance.
Again, that is a very awesome truck!

Holy smokes....I think I just found my tires!!! Your truck looks great. Looks like you could run off into a patch of woods and get down to the good fishin' holes.

Are you sitting on a stock suspension? Are those tires loud when you get 'em up to 70mph? Also, were there any issues with the tire shop in mounting those tires to those rims?

Yes that's stock suspension / stock height. The tires are surprisingly quiet and (maybe because of increased resistance?) they took most of the slop out of the steering. There were no issues mounting the tires but the back tires took A LOT of wheel weights to balance. I think the secondhand rims were a little out of whack. The tires fit inside the wheel wells with no rubbing at all, even at full lock.

Wish I'da seen your post before I put up one asking what sorta tires I need to do what you've done. Those tires really set off what is an already great lookin' truck.

I'm gettin' me some. Then all I'll have left is mounting my gun rack in the back window. :) Thanks for the help. :)
