Installing Aftermarket Stereo?
 

Welp, the time has come to install a radio in my truck... I've decided I'll most likely be going with a Pioneer DEH-14UB CD USB (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pioneer-DE...D-USB/17217900)..
So, what do I need to install this bad boy? I was wanting to put it where the original radio is. Which involves cutting, I'm sure. Has anyone else done this with a similar head unit?

Most of what you need is in the box just make sure you brace the rear of the head unit to stop unwanted vibrations do not just trust the mounting cage

Make sure the HU comes with a bezel kit and you should be good to go. Also, just because some harnesses look to be "plug and play", many/most have ground and hot wires in different locations. Plugging a deck into the wrong harness and turning it on will fry the electronics.... Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning on rewiring the whole radio. I pulled the stock one out and none of the wires were connected to anything. I assume you haven't had the best of luck? :lol:

I hate seeing people cutting the dash!!

Maybe you can find a digital post radio with a remote cd changer or something...

I don't see the problem in cutting the dash it's no like companies are beating down walls to make two post radios anymore. And if the deck fails they make millions to replace it. "Measure twice cut once"

If you havnt bought the radio yet, look into the JVC, i think they give the best sound quality and there cheap. then it doesnt matter what speakers you use. I used a nibbler to cut out my whole and it worked great ill try to get a picture on here.
